I can't believe we did not set up a race between Will's car and ***** last night! How could none of us think of that?? A slightly modded cobra with gears aginst a Stock WS.6. I believe it would have been a pretty good run and it would have let us know exactly how fast ***** car is now and how fast it could be when he puts the charger on. We will have to arrange that race for this coming weekend.

you know if you lose we will never hear the end of it. ***** is the type that will not let up if he wins. Last time we were at the track, he red-lighted me and crossed the line first at an 8.9 @ 81mph and I went on green and ran a 8.6 @ 89mph. He went around telling people that he beat an LS1 with a cam in it for a couple of weeks until I called him out again, then he shushed. I'm just giving you fair warning what to expect if you can't pull him.

300-400 is the going rate for cam install these days. that is changing the valve springs and pushrods too. one of the few things where the labor price actually exceeds the part price. wil call mike, the guy i recommended for your nitrous install. he does cams and does a good job, itll be done right for sure if you let him do it. i talked to him last night and he's needing a few side jobs right now.

Mike will charge you $400 for cam and springs. This I am sure of. The guy I am recommending that did mine will do yours for $325 (Cam,Springs,Rods). If you want to go elsewhere you can, my feelings won't be hurt. He did my Cam, Springs, and Rods, and Gears for $400 total. He hooked me up like I said but he hadn't done an LS-1 before and he didn't really know how much work it was and that was why he charged me so little. Now he has some LS1 experience under his belt and will get yours done a lot faster. He does really good work just like Mike does and he also needs money so he is looking for side jobs too. Just decide what you want to do and let me know.

yeah a door at most the second run he got me. i spent all monday on the car tuning, i just hadnt any time to get crazy with it. i would bet my house i walk him by over a car this sunday. mrdavid we should run again, it will prove how much a tune can do

also im an auto vs your 6 speed, racing from a roll the a 6 speed with a cam vs a mild head/cam auto is tough to over come. also dont forget the converter, that steals 30 whp, but at the track its a blessing:drinking:

iv e built 3 so far. one was in a truck with a weiand 142 on top 600 + hp stroker. its not that difficult but i do have 5 years of engineering classes under my belt:goodevil:

u guys need to dig in and do it your self. labor is what kills ya. parts are the cheap part. the only thing with the rear end is that it cost 180 for the tools to set the lash. i have done one before in class and one 12 bolt in my brothers truck but its cheaper to have some one do it that buy the tools to do it. if someone wants to split the cost though thats another story. again its all checking specs and being a perfectionist when it comes to putting it all back.
