Once upon a time , many many years ago , I had a '72 Mach1 with a 351 Cobra Jet , quite the running beast! Also had the most useless rear window . It was huge but when you sat in the driver's seat , it looked like a mail slot due to the fastback. Still ,quite the cool car. Wished I'd never sold it now. It would probably be worth quite a bit of change now.

Kiddos... Just wait till the new motor in my 69 is done. It leaves this weekend for good for the Chassis work and 1 3/4" chromoly cage :D

For now, the work car is a 95 cobra with a 395 inch windsor pumping out 860 hp with a cast intake and 4150 holley. Set up for NMRA Hot Street and doing all of that on MOTOR only ;)

am i number 3?? negative you're number 4 I think... and I'm number 3 ... I think... :rrofl:

My cousin had a 67 GT-350 That was a really sharp car. Then he sold that and built a Cobra kit and put a built 289 in it and that was nice too but I still like that GT-350. I pulled these pics off an old home video but here it is

About it being distasteful? Well my cousin probably thought it would make the car look mean if it was in a cemetary...who knows. My dad was the cameraman. We do have relatives buried there. A lake or a park would've definitely been a better place though.

them mustangs are durable. My brother put his in a ditch('88 convertible) and the only thing that happened to it was a trim panel got knocked off the right quarter panel.

My last car was a 93 4cyl convertible, it was a good reliable car and I was planning on swapping a 5.0 into it, but I ended up trading it for this car instead. :)

My first car was a 80 capri 4 cylinder and beat on it daily and it kept ticking till it saw about 8 grand one day. I busted all of the rings and scored the crap out of one cylinder. The next motor in it was out of a 79 pace car and it was the 2.3 turbo. That one was still running that last time I saw it after the next owner was more abusive to it then me. I am thinking maybe a turbo setup from a t-bird for this on as I know where one is at.

sounds like it could be fun my list of things for my car by hopefully end of march consist of headers and 3:73s and shorty shifter my biggest hurdle right now is I still have to convert my car over to mass air instead of speed density that kit is 350 bucks, I am a few steps behind everyone

The general rule with turbo coupe motors is 5 speed is better and the later the better. The best ones were the 87-88 5 speeds. They were rated at 190hp and 240tq.

The best I can find around here is an 86. I plan to pick it up as soon as I have the cash. I then have to figure out the wiring and fuel system as well as rebuild everything.

Going from a carburetor to efi is gonna be the hard part. These sites should help. http://www.turboford.net, http://www.turbotbird.com, and http://www.ford-fox.org. I would buy the whole car for parts. You can use the TC's rearend if you use the mustang axles, backing plates, and brakes. Plus you won't have to set up the ring and pinion. 83-86 TCs had a 7.5" and most came with 3.45s and a trac-lok. I can tell you what it came with if you have the axle code from the door tag.

2300 cc motor block is out of a Turbo Merker. The heads have been ported and polished the crank has been balanced it has a Mickey Thompson Head,Headers Holly Carb 11:1 compression the motor is completly High Performance and almost 11K has been invested in the motor alone. There is a Nitrous system installed but it needs to be connected at the motor. I am not sure of the shot.

Cool. I remember seeing one like that in Hot Rod a few years back.

My Mustang only runs 15.3.
