Im in the market for a table saw and I was wondering what you guys thought of the big brands.

Right now 99% of my wood working tools are DeWalt, the rest are Skil. The DeWalts have been great, I managed to melt parts of my 1/2" drive drill (DeWalt) and it still works like new. But DeWalt dosent have anything other than a 'portable' table saw at Home Depot... soooo what do you guys recomend?

Lots of good choices out there. I'd look at Rigid right now.

in many years of woodworking there is only two brands if your willing to spend some bucks for a saw that will last forever, and they are the Delta Unisaw series and the Powermatic line. for one with a 3 hp motor belt drive nice fence system and large table size they go for about 1500 up to several thou depending on how much you use a table saw. There are some in the 5 to 6 hundred dollar range by Rigid and especially the one Hitachi sells at lowes for 559. I own a powermatic since 93 now it is used by my brother in law in North Carolina all day every day. I now have the smaller but fantastic Hitachi. For the money it cooks and is super accurate if initially set up correctly as with any saw. I use it to cut 3/4 and 1" mdf and maple or cherry or oak for building speaker cabinets and some furniture. I cuts about as fast as you want to push. Thats with a 70 tooth carbide blade that set me back 170. But leaves a cut that needs no further attention. You probobly allready have made your decision but I thought for future reference i would post this. Good day.

If you are on a budget I would go with the Craftsman Professional series. I have used Craftsman for years and still have tools my father has used for years. For the money they can't be beat. But if you re looking for quality I would follow Tailwinds advice. As with anything you get what you pay for. I highly don't recomend skil, especially for bits and blades.
