If you call 1-800-392-3673 , you can get detailed data of your Ford based on build sheets. This service is offered by Ford. It covers Ford vehicles from 1946 to present. You'll recieve a letter detailing what options and trim levels your Ford product came from the factory with. The catch: the VIN you give must be of a car YOU own. This service is free. Vehicles manufactured 1991 and up will take about 2 days to research and 1990 down will take about a week before they can get the results. This is a pretty nice restoration tool and could useful for restoring a car to concours condition or just plain deciding whether to restore to factory specs or restomodding it.

Another very useful guide for Ford owners is a book entitled " The Production Figure Book for U.S. Cars". It was written by Jerry Heasley who worked with Ford for several years to compile this. It gives you an idea of how rare the particular car is you own.

Do a google on the Ford's History Report or Jerry Heasley for examples of letters from Ford or other books by Jerry.

After doing some digging , I ran across another source to get acrual dealer invoices on your classic Ford. And , there is also a catch here: you must provide a copy of your title or registration to get one. This is very valuable documentation and would help you get absolute correct info on your car.

It is also very reasonably priced for what you're getting.
