If you're looking to get into the offroading 4x4 scene , then consider the Jeep. Not only will you find there is a ton of aftermarket parts out there for them but they have to be the easiest platform to do body lifts and suspension lifts on . Plentiful and relatively inexpensive due to a very long manufacturing run , the Jeep is a great candidate for your first or next offroad project .

Very true, especially the Rubicon. Its got Dana 44 axles front and rear, 4:1 low range transfer case, NV3500 trans (I think), and 31 in. tires stock. That's just for if someone is looking for a new 4x4. If going used then a Jeep is still a good choice, as long as it's either a CJ or a newer TJ. Other older trucks to be considered would be Ford Broncos and fullsize K5 Blazers.

Jeeps (Wrangler and CJ) are simple, stone axe reliable and with a few simple mods, can go almost anywhere. I just started getting into Jeeps a couple years ago, and now I'm hooked!
