This 350Z belongs to Daniel of Greer. He came to us for some upgrades and a UTEC tune.

Stock internals
LSD
Comp Clutch Stage 4
Lightened Flywheel
Motordyne 5/16 spacer
Powerlab GT35R Turbo Kit
Tuned on Utec
Pump 93 octane
Fluctuating Between 5.1-5.7psi on a 5 pound spring.

In case you're wondering about the power dropping up top; 350Z ECU's close the throttle plate 12%-15% up top. It's more apparent on lower boost settings.

This is not correct. There are SOME occasions where the throttle plates close very slightly, 1 maybe 2% at the most, but it shouldn't effect the chart that much. You've got something else going on there. Details on the rest of his setup?

That was my impression at first based on hear say until I tuned one with motec and reviewed the datalogs. Sometimes it was 4%. The extreme was 15% although rare. The majority of the time it was closer to 12%.

If that's the case then he needs to get a reflash. I still don't see this being right as mine nor 100's of others didn't have that problem. He have the full PL kit?

Yes, full PL kit.

Technoquare reflash? It's been suggested although I don't think the owner is really concerned about it.

Some manufacturers also adjust the cam angle to reduce flow under X conditions pass X rpm as well. I'm not saying it's the case here but, it's a possibility.

For comparison purposes, here is a powerlab stage 5 with a ProEFI ecu from IntenseFab on my350z.com

You can see the same symptoms here as well.

Who's graph is that? Is that the one where they found a big exhaust leak after the fact?

Just a random one from Intensefab (sponsor on my350z.com).

Looks like valve float, heh. Those things arent bad about hanging valves open with boost are they?

bah, nevermind. I wouldnt think it'd do that on just a couple lbs of boost.

I was thinking more like a boost leak somewhere, or maybe he was on stock injectors, but the kit he has includes 600cc's and a walbro. After looking around it seems this isn't the only PL kit with that going one. I've never paid too much attention to ST's, but boost is boost and I've been all over TT's for years. I'd be PISSED if I lost 40hp up top. This is a graph of my TT setup @9.4psi and it is before he cleaned it up too.

Thanks for sharing. I think most people, including myself feel the same way. On a personal level, I prefer TT setups on the 350Z all day long. It's simply more efficient.
