This is Shane's 2004 350Z. We corrected some issues with the installation from the previous shop and tuned his setup.

The red graph is our tune, and the blue graph is the tune from the other shop. Same boost pressure, fluctuating between 8.8-9.2.

Good question. I was supposed to race that beast the night it blew up. Tim wouldnt answer the phone (didnt know that it had just blown up, I prob wouldnt have answered either). He and Dustin (vette) and a couple more folks met up. I was running late as usual.

Pretty good TQ from a 6cyl
I had thought about going this route with the 350z that I once owned, but I didn't know how long the motor would hold up, and while the car was very nice, it was very heavy. I don't understand why they weigh so much.

Tim is my cousin and Dustin used to date our little cousin.

It's nearing completion now. The tranny is at the transmission shop, and we've got to measure for the custom drive shaft. Other than that, it's just odds and ends.
Here is a link with updated pictures of the build. You'll have to scoll through a few pages of comments, but the near finished product is really nice.

I remember working on your Z. Work wheels, and we did something with your Y pipe if I recall correctly.
They are nice cars, and I've had a few of them, but they are on the heavy side for a 6cyl car.

Yeah..it was the Dark Gray one with the black SSR's. With all of the suspension work that it had, and the aftermarket sound system, the car was really nice to drive.
But after coming out of a Corvette and being offered the opportunity of getting back into one and still come out ahead money-wise, I couldn't turn it down.
Plus the price and availability of parts helped as well.

I completely agree and understand. The price of parts for japanese cars is rediculous compared to that of domestics. Let me know if we can ever help you with the Corvette.

Good looking car. Any problems with hot starts w/ the Utec?

No. We've never had an issue with them. I've had 3 UTEC tuned cars myself, with no issues.

Nice. What kit is he running? ST?

It's a custom kit, single SC61 turbo.
Oddly enough, this car is back on the lift right now. We're replacing the clutch, making a 3" downpipe, and installing head studs and Cometic head gaskets.
Should be back on the dyno soon for a little more boost

I know your not getting head lift on a stock DE!?! I'd be more concerned about bending a rod then HL, especially with that much tq.
