A body kit can enhance the look of your car if you take a little time before installing it.The biggest mistake you can make is pulling it straight out of the boxes and getting it painted. Most manufacturers will not allow you to return a kit if it has been painted. You need to prefit the kit to the car . Most kits require a little trimming here and there for a tight , precise fit. If you paint first , you'll end up visting the body shop again to repaint the area you've had to trim. The best thing to do here , in my opinion, is to paint it on the car fitted properly.

Using adhesive only to secure the kit isn't the best idea either. Vibrations from driving can cause failure. The best thing to do is to find areas you can inconspiciously put flush sheet metal screws and a bit of body filler to cover the screw heads . See body work 101 thread for proper finishing techniques.

If you wish to put mesh is various openings of your kit , form the mesh to the openening , wrapping it around on the backside of the kit and a bit of fiberglass filler on the back side of the kit will do a great job of securing it and leave no holes or unsightly hardware.

If you not totally confident of installing a body kit , leave it up to a professional. You can easily ruin a kit and they ain't cheap. You'll save money in the long run. A few extra bucks spent can save you a lot more than replacing broken or overtrimmed parts.
