the SVT department did make some great vehicles. all i can figure is that the GT500 didn't warrant it having its own department since there are no other current SVT type cars being produced. I have a feeling that either we will see the SVT badge again, or they will have a department to do the same thing, but it will be purely internal. groups like SRT, SVT, AMG, etc are good marketing things. makes the car sound like its on another level from the regular production cars, at least IMO
