My compressor in my ac unit is rotor locked and need a new one. I need to know if there is anyone certified in here to do the job and how much it would cost me for the labor?

Changing an A/C compressor isn't something hard enough to pay someone to do. Take the belt off, unbolt the compressor, and disconnect the lines.

Im EPA certified if thats what you mean? Kinda depends on how fast your needing to get it done becouse its real busy right now for me at work and at home(car is on jackstands). How old is the unit and i hope it isnt a compressor that has been discontinued becouse they can get pricey. Are you in the market for a new condensing unit becouse i always recomend this if the unit is real old since the seer ratings now are alot better then they were 8-10 years ago. Sometimes by the time you buy the compressor, charge, and labor it is half or close to a new condensing unit. Also got to consider warranties most compressor replacements are 30 days and new units will have 1-2 year warranties. Just depends on what your looking at spending.

i just need the quote on the labor to install a 3.5ton r22 compressor. If I could find a new r22 unit for a good price w/ a 1 year warrenty just like a new compressor i'd rather go that rought. I was quoted at $1200. This includs parts and labor for a compressor and was told for that price I could buy a new unit. I was also told that r22 are hard to find.

1200 bucks for a compressor change? r22 isnt hard to find at all it is just more expensive then it was 5 or 6 years ago. If you call me at 982-1623 and get me the name and model number, serial number off the compressor i can get you a price tom on what it cost and im almost certain that 1200 is a little high. I can also get you a price on a new one also even if i dont do it atleast you will know what kinda pricing you should be looking for. Is it a split system(condensing unit+air handler) or a package system? Im guessing 3 1/2 tons correct?

Ya 1200 for compressor change includes parts and labor. I'm not exactly sure what type of unit it is. Its a 3 1/2 ton for sure. I'm at work right now but I'll give you a call tomorrow and get you the #'s you need. Do you need the #'s off the ac unit or off the actual compressor?

Just off the compressor. I know its gonna be a pain since you have to take the top off to get it but if you can get me the make of the compressor and model + serial number ill see what it costs along with getting a price for a new goodman condensing unit. This is a split system correct?

Didn't have time today to get to the #'s but took a quick look at it. The #'s are gonna be a lil hard to get to just by looking at it. I'm gonn have to see if I could get some kind of mirror or camara down in there. The brad name looks to begin w/ a "D".
