This 68 truck is an old farm truck was in need of a Face lift. The plans are simple static drop 6” ride height. The bed us a standard affair the wood floor was gone and it’s a step side. So I feel no need to show the bed or trailing arm removal.

The hood is junk so I have to find a new one. I think I’ll go with a cowl hood.

This is one of my 4-bars

I decided to go with a newer truck 12 bolt. This way I get the 5 lug set up. The other thing that worked out, the SLOW-BURBAN had new rear brakes on it so I’ll put the bigger drum brakes from it on. This way I can rear build the old rear end later when I have some time.

Here is the front bracket .25 mild steel laser cut the bars I use are 1.75 dom.

I build all of my own rod ends and bars. I get the bushings from Prothane. I’ll post pictures of the jig later.

The ends are capped on the front brackets.

Next are the shock mounts and some kind of locator bar then we move on to the front.

Ok the shocks are a budget deal. I did however mount the shocks at 30 degree angle.

This shock set up is real simple. The top brackets are my design. It uses 1.75 tubing on one end .50 on the other. The bottom mounts came with the shocks. They are so shitty I refused to even show pictures of them.

Here is Frankie cutting out the boxing plates. The plate is going from the front bed mount to the rear shock mount.

If you take a peak at the top of the frame you will see that plates have been welded to the top of the frame over the “C”

These boxing plates are some left over steel another job it’s 1/8” plate

These are the Coffin Mufflers from Elroy Newberry. Not only but they sound good they have a good design. The old crusty guy is TATTOO JOE former mechanic/ biker. I figure Joe is at deaths door so I had him hold the coffin.

Lou everything looks great as always, but one question are you going to put a panhard bar to control side to side movement??? i am pretty sure you will but just asking since i didnt see one in the pictures. Good luck with the build!

I will put in a track bar or something I wanted to get the shocks mounted so I knew how much room I had to play with.

You going to put disc brakes on all 4s?
Thinking about putting the Impalla/F-body rear caliper/rotors on mine but not sure if I will see any benefits over the Disc/drum with brake booster that I have now.
