If you want to legitimately say you have a "full" bolt'on car, you still need a electric water pump and an aftermarket intake.

air intake is bolt on which he has, intake manifold is not a bolt on in my book

:blah blah: Fact is, oil doesn't touch it, and it isn't heads, cam, or power adder, so its a bolt'on.

yea will the stock 52mm intake is fine once mated with a matching tb.

oil touches rockers yet its a bolt-on some how...

then again, depending on the forum freaking cams are considered a bolt-on in the 4.6 world

Oil touches the intake on an lt1

the LT1 was around before the LS1. the term "bolt on" came about during the LT1 era, and since there was no other intake available from the aftermarket, an intake swap was not considered a bolt on.
in the beginning, "bolt on" was intended to mean stuff you could just open the hood and bolt it on relatively simply. popping the valve covers and swapping rockers is relatively easy.

the LS1 guys have changed things over the years.

I probably have no experience in making an LT1 bolt on car go fast...but when you want the right parts and a good tune let me know.

BFS. Bolt on Lt1 cars trap 82-84 mph, not 91+.

id like to get 86 or so when its all said and done. So far my 3 best are 84.87, 84.68, 84.53 i believe. So I believe with a little retuning, tb w/ airfoil, and ud pullies i can sneak 86 a few times

86 shouldnt be an issue now. One of Shon's old car's slips (not a best BTW). It was never on the dyno, but Im sure it wasnt anymore than 300 or so.

yea but hes car was like 250lbs lighter than mine, so id say i and geared probably alittle better haha, and maybe a better tune. So in light of that Ill take 86 and be super thrilled anything better and im like Mcdonalds. "Im lovin it"

Eds excuse book? I dont make excuses sir? never have nor will I. I was simply stating facts that matter. If your writing a book you may as well stop at the one "excuse" you just came up with cuz thats IT!

I say it runs good now, ill stick with not having the weight in it

SlowOhFoh
04-15-2010, 10:07 PM
you should put power windows in the formula... less weight and creature comfort

Eds98WS6
04-15-2010, 10:08 PM
How is it less weight?

The EnforceR

Because the weight of a door with power equipment is less than the weight of a door with manual stuff!
