Went to the Shoals Saturday. I'm not too impressed with the car anymore. I think there is more to be had out of it for sure tho. I just need to figure out what to do to make it come out of the hole. I kept spinning every time. Here are the stats though.
60' - 1.994
1/2 track - 5.369
E.T. - 8.121
MPH - 89.967
This was on Nitto 555R Extreme Drag radials. Stock suspension. 3500 TCI Street Fighter stall converter, and a 3.73 rear end in a 10 bolt.
Gimme some suggestions. I apparently need some suspension parts. Fo sho.

Mickey Thompson drag radials, and a 100 shot of funny stuff and that bitch will run some numbers. But on a real note get some Mickey t's and that will hook, those Nittos suck.

O yeah. My best run I was gettin a lil sideways on the way out the hole. I'm wanting a 7.5 or 7.6 car. What will that take? haha

Tires, cut that 60ft to a high 1.6x and you will have those times

Yeah. Maybe some LCA's or somethin too? And either Nitrous or a blower is in my future. My time now would probably translate to like a mid/high 11 in the 1/4 right?

All the estimates I see are Mid-12's in the 1/4.

I would say some better tires and seat time to get some mid to high 7s since your mph isnt to bad. Too many people think they can just sit in a car and run good numbers even if they buy more hp but the best mod is a driver mod. Just get some ET streets or stickier and practice. like todd said low 8s are more of the high 12 range.

FWIW, granger 1.7x on all stock suspenion w/ 275/40R17 Nitto 555R's w/ a SS3600 and PRC 5.3 heads and 228 cam w/ stock gear and it stalled at like 2400rpm... ran a 7.7
you have to do a john force burnout with nittos for them to hook btw...

nittos are not the best DR out there.
Let me know if you want some M/Ts and suspension parts.
I probably can get you set up!

UMI suspension package from Herron Performance is a good mod and will run you less than $300 for LCA's and PHB. Totally worth it.

heat the heck out of those nittos. Or get some non dot drag radials. when i get some rims to put them on i would like to get some M&H drag raidials.
Go to greer, they are doing really great this year, they prep and clean the track. i was leaving at 2400ish in my car and it dead hooked. i think had i gone full stall i might have hooked and pulled a 7.5 outa it.
Everything everyone has mentioned will help. I say take the nittos to greer on a nice weather thursday night and do a john force burnout in em and leave at 3000. you're mph is really good you'r def good for a 7.7 or 7.8 atleast if not better

MPH is def there for 7.70s at least....looks like you need to work on the first '330 of the track like me. What power at you making?

he has the MPH to go 7.4 but he might have too much weight.

Power I'm 420 hp and 388 tq. I can probably post a dyno sheet up tomorrow. But the car is full weight. And Herron, what do you suggest suspension wise? I wanna keep it under $500 for now. I've always been a fan of doing stuff in small increments.

I'm just curious if the PHB will clear my exhaust. I don't wanna have to change it.

No I ended up selling it actually. Sorry I forgot to get back with you. I had a lot going on with work at the time. Someone saw it on craigslist and brought me the money. Btw GTA, did we go pretty conservative on that tune or is that pretty much all it had? I gotta bring it back to ya sometime anyway to get a retune.

lol for some reason i thought you just had bolt ons. thats some nice numbers for a stalled auto.
MrDavid

Those are good numbers for a stalled auto. I'm surprised that your trap is only 89 though. I would be expecting somewhere in the 91-92 range.

last time i dynoed was when i put the heads on my car and that was 370whp at stables shop and i did 91 mph. so i would say a lil more from 99z

Still haven't grasped the concept of sarcasm yet huh?
Remember when I said "realisticly, I am hoping for 100?" Off by 3mph. If track was 20* cooler, I might have been off by 2, or 1.

That's pretty much all it had, being an automatic those are pretty good numbers for the mods. Also keep in mind some converters are more efficient than others, for example Yank's usually trap higher than a comparable Vigilantes. I haven't seen too many TCI streetfighters, but I can tell you a buddy of mine had one in his GTO and switched to a Yank SS3600 and was very happy with the results. But the first thing I would do is switch to a better tire and see what you can get your 60' down to. You've got a half second on the table in your 60', which will translate to even more in the ET.

Yes. I think some of that time should be in the suspension. And those tires are brand ass new so I pretty much need to run them for a while longer. I just want a low to mid 7 second street car. If the suspension and some more seat time doesn't get me there, I'll start looking at Nitrous I suppose.

nitrous would put you into 6's lol with a good tire. Do exactly what jeff says. or use the nittos and put alot of heat in to them, a nice big roasty burn out. I did 7.7's with 370whp through a stalled auto, so you at 420 I think is right at your goal of mid 7 or less.

I'd say find someone to let you borrow a set of tires first to see if that helps, then go from there.

Yeah. That would be ideal.
