As some of you know, I've dropped the car off for paint, its coming along nicely. I go by Scott's tomorrow to pick up my old bumper so I can sell it and I will try to snap some of the pictures to show the progress. Scott said he hopes to have it ready by Tuesday at the latest. I'm hoping it turns out nice. I feel he's going to do a great job though. Everything is being done including cut and buff.

Good thing he's cutting/buffing it....the other work I've seen him do came out extremely orange peely lol. Let's hope his buffing is better than most body shops! Can't wait to see it! I may have been able to save ya the paint job, I'm a lot better at this now than I was a year ago when I did your car, and also use a lot better products...just didn't have time for it. What is he charging for all this?

he's doing it all for 1700, the top was just fading really bad and i bought the new bumper too so i just wanted it all to match and have fresh paint..you definately did a great job on it last year though

I'll be the first to admit it wasn't as good as I can do now, I was just learning lol. Seems like a fair price since it doesn't need much (if any) body work.

ya had the passenger door repainted and seemed good. Had some chips on the door from the mirror breaking and chipping the paint in about 15 spots.

Hope it comes out good for ya man. I got my estimate today from image collision in spartanburg its goin to run me about two Grand for my whole car plus the 1800$ lol should be a looker when it comes out. Also going to modify the metallic in the paint while I'm at it. Sorry for the hi jack hope yours turns out good...

My truck has a $350 Econo paint job that is 2 years old now. It looks pretty decent for that price, had a primer fender and hood before they painted it. They did overspray a little but it washed off.

Econo actually did a better job than Image Auto Collision did on my wife's 2003 Jetta and it was around $2,500. Image messed up the tag bracket clips, paint wasn't right on the trunk lid under where the tag goes, and the paint on the bumper was chipping / cracking within 12 months but they did respray the bumper free. And the tail light they installed always seemed to blow bulbs because they didn't do something properly. Trunk seal wasn't installed right and it leaked water for a few months. Customer service was pretty bad. I guess it was the guy that runs it - was pretty rude, acted like he didn't have any time after we showed him the problems. He was looking at another car for someone and I had to ask him to quit leaning on my car.

never heard of image. but we dont have ferraris though, ive had scott paint a couple cars Allison roughed up and they all look just like factory.

no offfense to you kyle cause you car looks very clean and showroom new looking. But the "All show and no go" is something that would piss me off if someone said it to me. Im not trying to offend anyone, but tim2001z has a very clean camaro and it runs bottom 7s with a high 6 in it later this year. personally i would go for an overall score, instead of a 10 out of 10 on the paint, id take an 8, and try to get some speed up.

You won't regret taking it to them. I won't go anywhere else. I just got my car back for the 2nd time (some dumbass woman decided to press the accelerator when the light was red...) Both times i've taken it to them, they were very good. I had a single fish eye on one of the fenders the first time, I pointed it out and they repainted that fender, and the 2 joining panels. Where they have painted is better than factory.

hmm... doesn't sound like my experience at all. They knew I was picky about my car going into it, and had no problems repainting when I told them i didn't like it.

I dont care if god himself painted it thereis no way i would spend 3800 bucks for a paint job on a camaro IMO. If you sell it you will never get that much back out of the car becouse lets be honest camaros and trans ams and even some vettes can be had pretty cheap now. Just like would you put 4 grand paint job on a foxbody mustang?A 1800-2000 dollar paint job will look very good too and have alot of money left over . I think one of the best paint places around is cannons in fountain inn. Your money though and sure it will look nice .

None taken at all dude. Mine is far from showroom new looking, once I get the obvious flaws worked out in the appearance, I assure you one day mine will hold it's own on the track. I too, think the perfect car is one that I can take to a car show Saturday afternoon, win a trophy....and then drive it to Greer and run a high 6 sec pass, and then drive it home. ONE day....I will do that. If I wasn't such a pansy about breaking something, I believe it could actually do decent at the track now for what it is....it runs like it should on the street. I'll sack up soon andd get some sticky ish under it for a couple passes.

Josh it really wouldn't take much at all to make that thing a looker. I love the drag wheel setup you have on it now. All it needs is a respray and it'd be sharp.

Flat black....to be done RIGHT, takes just as much money as a regular respray. If not, it'll just look like cheap spray paint....and what you have now looks a lot better than that.
