:flame: First off this is a rant because I got really ticked...So read on if your interested.

I was looking at a forum today and they list the banned threads for everyone to see. I felt like I was in a crazy house. The threads that they close are retarded. I mean in a stupid way. The threads were serious questions or topics but the rules they have are so retarded that they were closed. One topic was closed because the guy had a capital letter to start each word example...

"I Was Going To Go To The Store But I Changed My Mind" not exact quote just showing caps thing.

Another thread was closed after a guy listed all his mods and asked a question related to what fuel issue he was having and how much possible Hp might be gained by fixing it. IT WAS CLOSED FOR "Bench Racing!" How retarded can a forum get, There is a big difference between "bench racing" and asking a question related to a rich fuel issue and if it was worth fixing for some extra hp!

I'm glad this place isn't run that way or I would have to ban myself.

I read about 20 more closed topics and realized how badly moderated that site was. I felt I should join and post about how angry I was with the way they were modding the site, But I would've been banned for giving my opinion.

Here is two of their rules.

"No Guessing - if you don't know the answer for sure, don't reply - we don't need you spreading misinformation. If your reply contains phrases like "I think", or "I've heard", or "everyone else does it", or "my brother's uncle's friend did it and had no problems" - IT IS NOT USEFUL- only post a reply if YOU know the answer from YOUR own first-hand experience. Instead of replying with a guess, post a link to a thread where the answer can be found, or the same discussion already took place. "

"Do not post info found in our forums on other website forums."

^^^^ oops' good thing I didn't join or I would've been banned!:waiting:

The point of a forum is to share information! What good does that do if you can't share the wealth?????

I looked back and there was a total of 1,147 closed threads! The funny thing is that was only 200 threads short of being the biggest area of the forum!

I agree that is just stupid but on the flip side I know of a forum where there is so much repeated misinformation and such a gang mentality if you try to correct the wrong info with first hand correct info it is like a feeding frenzy....so all you can do is sit back and shake your head and feel sorry for the poster that just got crap info.....I would say almost 80% of the posts there are like that.

i'll PM it if you request but I won't post it on here, i dont' want someone from that forum coming here and possibly leave due to that fact or try to get mod status here and corrupt everything lol

Someone on another forum posted the required rules thread that must be read before you can even access the threads on a particular site. In the rules , they stated they would ban you if you didn't use the correct spelling , grammar and punctuation. The rules were so far over the top , it's not even funny. I consider myself to be reasonably intelligent and well mannered but there was no way I would EVER register at a site such as that. The general tone was very demeaning and made one feel like a lower life form for being a "newbie". Utter crap! This site will never be that way! General stupidity & rudeness *might * get you banned here , but not because your English isn't perfect or you aren't an engineer at GM. Everyone is welcome and we give everyone a chance here. How someone carries themself is how they get treated. I don't care if a site has the best tech info known to man , looking down on someone just isn't right.

That makes me want to join up on that site and give "first hand knowledge" of something and give it completely wrong.
