How hard and what would it cost to put a ls1 in my 67 camaro ragtop with a automatic trans. I don't want to butcher it.

Thanks

Thats "the thing" to do to the older cars now....restomod them. I couldnt imagine it would be too hard, since more and more are coming out everywhere. The deciding factor would be your budget. I'm sure you could buy everything in a KIT to do it....but that is $$$. If you wanna fab things yourself and save some coin, I'm sure its doable for anyone with fab skills and creativity. I know you can get a nice 5.3 or 6.0 with a 4L60e tranny for pretty cheap, the fun part will be deciding how you're getting it in there! Wish I had more to say, but that's all I know is that it IS doable, and it must not be too too hard since I am seeing alot of those swaps now.

Yea ,I thought about it for the gas mileage and the power. It would be cool, but I'll probably just rebuild the 350 i have. I'll have to buy a couple of rods. some of them didn't want to seperate and they spread when I took it apart. I'll also have to put a posi unit in the rear . It still has then single in it.

put a 6.0/4l80 in my 71 truck and it was a breeze
same with my brothers multiple vehicles.
he has a 68 P/U
had a jeep with a 5.3/T400
several others with jeeps have 5.3s or 6.0s and all kinds of trans.
1 has a 700R4, the other has a FORD manual 4spd with it, several TH350 or 400s

its real simple actually....

put both a ls6 and a LQ9 in a 68 camaro, and a LQ4 in a mid 80's C10. Fairly easy to do IMO.
