Sometimes the car wont start, I dont hear the main relay click so I dont get fuelhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/2_bing.gif (http://www.clubhioctane.com/community/#) or spark, engine just spins freely. Then after a while it may click and drive fine for weeks.
Sometimes it wont start, I dont hear the main relay click . So I pull and check all the fuses that are recommended to check even replacing them, checked all the grounds and still wont work. Went and bought new main relay, still NO start. Then out of the blue I hear the main relay click and it starts.
Ok now its runs fine for few days and now it will cut OFF within 30sec's of running. ???Did this 3 times and each time cutting off exactly same place.? So I pull the negative cable on battery wait 5 min's and I finally hear the main relay click and it starts. ?????

Car starts sometimes then sometimes it starts and cuts off 30sec to 1 min after driving. Then when it dont start I wont hear the MainRelay click. I checked All fuses I checked All Grounds. I have bought a brand new MainRelay, When it dont start I dont hear the fuelpump prime and I pulled a spark plug wire with spark plug attached and cranked it to see if I get spark.. NO spark. So no spark, No fuel prim.

Anyone have a idea? Im starting to think its the ECU. Any one have a 97-99 Honda Civic or know anyone with one that I can just plug there ECU in to see if its the issue? Just need a little help with this one guys.

Sounds like a fuel safety cut off or something of the sort, does it not have no spark and fuel?

Also check ohm resistances in the ignition switch.

Karma should be good to me on this one.. I've had my hands on more than half the engines on this site helping. Hopefully someone can come threw for me. I even called Shane (boostedcrx) to see if he had any ideas with his Honda tech boys.

get your meter out and see if you getting power to that particular relay when you turn the key. If no power to the relay I would look into the ignition switch.

I checked post 6 and its Hot. gets power with the ignition on. I dont hear the fuel pump prime the engine just spins nice and smooth. No spark and no fuel. So what I did was run a jumper wire from post 6 to post 4 of the main relay harness and I was able to hot wire the fuel pump to come on. So I know that the pump is fine. I printed a trouble shooting diagram to see if I'm not getting power at crank to one of the terminals on the main relay harness. Maybe its not communicating with the pcm. So frustrating.

Check your crankshaft sensor, maybe going bad, PCM doesn't get a signal from thaat you will not get fuel or spark

Gary try to ecu, my eclipse had the same problem, it got to a point where it would start at all no fuel no spark. Changed ecu everything was fine again

Its not a relay, ecu does that when they start going bad.

The ECU is the last thing you replace and almost Never is the issue. 90% of the time it IS the main relay. When you don't have fuel or spark the main relay is the one that controls the communication to the ECU Now since I've checked and replaced the mainRelay and fises and grounds and ignition.. Now like I said in post #1 I will check ECU.. Its last to go out. Now does anyone know some one with 97-99 civic I can test ECU's

it's a loose connector at the ecu, #47 pin brown wire with a grey tracer.
