Well I have kinda hit a road block and I am thinking of throwing in the towel on the Denali. I am building a Air to Air intercooler setup to naturally get my IAT's down however I am afraid I am to the max on my current injectors. I have a returnless style fuel system so when I am in boost my pressure drops effectively making my injectors smaller, currently I am seeing 97% duty cycle. To go larger on the injectors I would have to switch to the vette/Fbody injectors and would most likely jump to 60lbers however this would require modding the fuel rail and splicing in the different injector clips as well as a bunch of tuning. I dont really care to push this thing much more then I am at now I just want 8lb or so INTERCOOLED, I seen the 97% duty cycle at 9.5psi so I am hoping that I can do 8psi with the intercooler without pushing the injectors any more, maybe Ill have to lower my shiftpoints a tad who knows. Basically my next round of mods would end up running me close to $2000 all said and done ( Wideband, Injectors, HPtuners upgrade, Injector clips) So I think I will just put on the intercooler and try to get what I can without killing the injectors. Time to focus on another project.......:drama:

2k is a good bit, but the good thing is that once that is done, you have room to expand on other things. it does get frustrating. to make my car perform properly and to its fullest with my cam, i need injectors, probably fuel pump, stall, and trans cooler. it does feel like it never ends

Well the thing is I dont want to push it too hard becuase I dont want to mess up the tranny, this is my daily driver and I dont plan on pushing it beyond 8lb once the intercooler is on. If it wasnt a daily driver I would say screw it and do it and raise the boost even higher but I want to be able to go out and jump in it and drive it without having to worry too much. I think Ill just get out of it what the injectors will let me and call it good. Maybe a slight drop and some interior mods would be cool. I dont know.... Anyone have any input? Cowl hood maybe? hmmm

dont give up, theres got to be a solution for the intercoler, why cant you just run the multec 44# inj that nelson sells? im going to run 10 #s boost and my fuel system is fine.how about a stall converter and a cam? you definitley will love those items , i just got a cam and 2800 stall/ built 65e and my truck really performs!everything should have a cam !

I have the same injectors allen sells, 42,43,44 they are all the same just depends on the manufacture as too the naming. It would be kinda pointless to do a cam when I am running out of fuel now, the cam will only make it worse. If I am going to get a cam then I am getting a CAM. You will hear it, but with a cam I will bleed off some boost so I will have to pulley down more to reach desired boost, this means higher IAT's without a intercooler. I dont want a stall because I tow with this truck and I cant stand stalls. You are fine at 10psi because you have a 5.3, the 6.0 has a decent amount more demand for fuel then the 5.3. My buddy has a high 12 sec scsb 5.3 and he still doesnt use as much fuel as I do and he is running 10psi with a radix. He also has more mods then me and still uses less fuel. The 6.0 is a gas hog

For exterior looks, I would paint the door handle black to match or just shave it, Put some black runners down the side instead of the chrome step-ups. A 3-5" cowl hood and a nice set of silver stripes down the middle. With a custom rear bumper with dual cut-outs. (which would still leave room for the hitch underneath.) That would look sweet and be around or less then $2,000.

Im not too keen on fuel systems but, you said that running wide open your fuel pressure drops, making your injectors smaller. How? I figure if the pressure drops the injectors are putting out more than your pumping. I noticed you got the 255lph pump is that an intank or an in line?

Or did I totally miss somthing.

My pump is a intank pump, starting on 04 models gm started putting returnless fuel systems on the trucks. With the returnless system the more fuel you use the more the pressure drops, with forced inductions it is roughly 1lb fuel press. per 1lb boost, if I could keep my fuel pressure at or above 60psi at WO then my injectors would be fine. When you stated that with lower fuel pressure it basically makes the injectors smaller you are correct. I do not know of any fixes for this problem at this point, I am trying to figure it out. A voltage booster should help some but its more of a band aid in my eyes. My fuel pump will support more hp then I am pushing however the returnless fuel system is what is killing me.

Hey just my .02 cents. I think your truck looks great. Keep with the stealth look. Maybe a bit lower, but I don't think all trucks need the cowl hood. IMHO the cowl look works great for the older box Chevy trucks, late 70's mid -80's. Although some newer ones look done up right, especially some of the trucks on this forum. I think you have a good balance for looks and performance and you can hop in and go with the minimum of tinkering.

Hey, if you need a side project to go wild on, how about a boxy Chevy pickup, with a homemade turbo setup? :)

Anyways, nice truck!
