I was wondering if I could get some cheap suggestions for a bike from anyone......preferably under $1000 would be great.

Is this going to be a first bike? What kind of things sre you looking for in a bike?

I would think if you shopped around some you should be able to find an older Kawasaki EX 500 close to your price range. I had one and it was a great deal of fun and an excellent beginner bike.

Yep, first bike.......I want it to have a nice sound to it, and be reliable.....doesn't have to be fast, ill save that for when i'm more experienced.

Under 1000? Yikes...

Maybe try a mid 90's EX500 or an older high mileage Ninja 500..

Ninja 250, 1980's Volcan...

Just keep in mind, your going to drop the bike so you may not want to put much if any emphasis on appearance.

Yeah, If the paint is bad on the one I buy, I'll prolly use it to learn how to paint hehe.

lol, just do why I did and start out on dirt bikes, They are made to be abused and roughed up! My first bike was a 1979 Yamaha Enduro. Its only 100cc and plenty of fun. You can find old bikes form the late 70's and 80's fairly cheap and learn on the beat um up bikes then move up to something nice.

That's actually a pretty good idea
