Picked up a 1987 5 speed rx7 this week in really good shape that runs well for 200$ Its a really light blue will have pics soon. Putting an lt1/t56 in it. Should be quick as right now it only weighs in at 2670 right now...

I bet that thing will be a blast to drive. I once remember seeing a video on You Tube of a guy's RX7 that had a LS1 with a T-Rex cam in it.
It sounded nasty!!

Considering you could sell all the rotary parts for $400/$500 you will be way ahead of the game. I would skip the LT1 though and go strait to the LS series.

I agree, but the LT1 swap seemed to be a lot more common in these cars. Or is it just me thinking that?

Why take a light weight car and put a ton of front end weight in it? The extra cost in a LS swap will recuperated in resale value.

You ever see how much one of those sells for? In a 3rd gen RX-7, I mean.
I saw one in great shape for 36K with a H/C/I LS1.
