yesterday and today i worked on tinting kale's tail lights and third brake light. ive done it before with reg clear from a gun, but never with the rattle can stuff. after chasing the devil outta these thing, we finally got it figured out.

3 light coats of VHT
2 light coats of duplicolor rattle can clear
2 medium coats of clear
wetsand with 800
wetsand with 2000
buff with wool, then with foam

they didnt come out perfect by any means, but now i think i know how to do it and they would come out nearly flawless next time. heres some pics, i tihnk im gonna try charlie's lights next week

i suggest to anyone that wants it to look good the first time let someone else do it that has experience. mine were a big pain.

I dont see what the big deal is. If anyone WANTED to find out how to do it, there's several articles on tech, and other sites. Not a huge secret.

chris its no big secret how you did this, when i asked you how you did it a while back, i thought you had some other magical special way to do it by the way you talked. its the same way i did mine 3 years ago. i dont see the big deal. heck theres only really 2 or 3 ways to do this. this is a forum where we share our knowledge anyways, not keep it from everyone!

you just had some black mixxed in with a clearcost and sprayed. only problem doing it that way is if you wetsand, the more you sand the lighter it will ended up since the clearcoat has the tint to it. sometimes they dont need the sanding tho, i think yours looked great

your suppose to use quotes when you quote people.

i asked you how you did yours bc when you posted about it......you made it sound like you found some new magical easier way to do it and were being secretive.
