I made something Showish

Im not known for doing showish stuff but I thougt this would improve the look of my engine bay. So I made a template for this battery den cover; then got some plexiglass and spent all day shaping it and WA'LA!!! Its just a rough painting for now; just wanted to see if I liked it black or Red.

Thanks Kyle, I talked to Tim and Terry at that cruise in friday bout making it. They liked the idea so I made it. It looks better in person, im not 100% happy with it yet. You like the black or would red look better? I will do the final painting in the paint booth.

If I would have known you were going to do that, I would have let you borrow mine for the time you needed to make the template from. Mine will eventually be re-painted as I do something different with everything. I don't care for the yellow or the checkerboard.

Whenever you get ready, just let me know. My car is in the shop right now, and I will be in Charleston this entire next week. But after that, you can get it for as long as you need it. Here is what it looks like now. The guy also used some type of weatherstripping around it that I thought finished it off pretty nicely.

Yours is a little different from my design.... I like the idea of adding weather stripping though. Wow that guy went crazy with the checkered flag theme. If you dont like all that you shoud try and sell it, its great workmanship.

I agree with you 100%. The FRC's have already been sold, and I will repaint the battery cover. Also, those pieces on the sides of the reservoir tanks are fastened by double sided velcro. So those can be removed are repainted as well.

I will probably just put everything back together plain and simple. I don't show the car, and it's really not in the same shape anymore as in these pics after a few Canadian winters.

Not trying to hijack your thread into work mine needs though!! :)

Well I swear I saw that engine bay there Just a while ago. Maybe someone saw it at a show and copied it, but it's so close I thought it was the same car.

I have seen quite a few Vettes with the same patterns as this. There is also a Flame pattern that is pretty popular. But the guy I bought the car from went to extremes. The underside of the hood is painted, and the underside of the trunk was done the same way. I just don't care for yellow, and more than happy with something low-key.
