the past few days, ive been sanding and painting things for the car. since the grey on the seats didnt match the silver on the car, the silver interior pieces looked out of place. so i shot them in gloss black. ive also been wanting to break up that sea of silver in the engine bay, so i painted the fender brackets, headlight brackets, and bumper support piece gloss black since i had a good bit left in the gun. after all this, the airlid looked real boring to me, so i shot it with the same burgundy that my valve covers and STB are painted. the big z/28 emblem is going right in the middle of that badboy. ill prob hafta cut and buff the airlid, just hafta see how it looks once its dry.

pics to come once paint is dry and i can finish reassembling everything.

Not about being the best, but I know your car will make a great showing Kyle. Only thing I think is dont go to crazy with the painting of parts and such. It cheapin's up things a bit.

The EnforceR

too late for that lol. hardly anything under the hood has been left unpainted now. yea its cheap when you do it with crappy spray paint, but when its done the right way and prepped correctly it looks good IMO. anyways here it is, love it or hate it!

i still look at it and see too much clutter. the wires going to the injectors and coil pack harness, i wanna tend to those somehow. and the fuel lines cluttering up the driverside valce cover, im gonna have something for that pretty soon hopefully. ahhhhhhh it never ends. i do hafta say tho, once everything is painted, it is SO much easier to keep clean. just wipe it down with a microfiber and thats it!

for some reason the flash on the camera realllly makes that carpet look lighter. its a lot better match in person i think

Looks great. I'm liking the dark red under the hood. Not sure if you meant to or not, but you missed the defrost vents.

silver shifter knob would be win. and clean pedal covers. i'm not a fan of painted stuff in the interior but looks clean. congrats.

What are the gauges in the gauge pod? Engine looks good, but I wouldnt say the interior looks "clean". To much dazzle IMO, carbon fiber, multiple painted parts (random) and white faced gauges. Just my opinion, but again I say the engine bay looks sharp.

the carbon fiber pieces will be replaced with the replacement pieces that 6litereater makes on ls1tech, in silver. that, or im just gonna take the covers off all together. gauges arent white, theyre silver. and the gauge pod is a digital tach/shift light, and a stupid a/f gauge that is pointless. the a/f gauge will be replaced with a water temp gauge, since that gauge in these cars is pretty much a dummy gauge anyways.

itll slowly get to the way i want it, will just take a little time. the next thing im gonna do is get some black floormats made with the old z/28 embroidered in it.

why's the a/f pointless? Guess its not really needed unless you have a power adder, but its never a bad idea to monitor it if you have a decent cam in there.

its a narrow band gauge, all it is is a light show

ah, I figured it was a wide band.

What's all that stuff beside your tach and speedometer? It looks like every possible light that could come on in the instrument cluster "shows up" even if the light is not illuminated?

Engine bay looks good!

its because of the carbon fiber overlay has custouts for the lights to shine through and you see the silver gauge overlay under it
