alright folks, it seemed like the muscle militia was well-liked by the majority. so ive given 2 variations of it. vote and by midnight on tuesday (tomorrow) whichever one winnning will be the winner. if someone doesnt vote, il call them and see what they want. dont vote unless your a regular and actually show your face every now and then, or plan to in the future. if you vote and you never show up really, itll be deleted and youll just hafta roll with whatever is chosen.

the thing with this is that if it were clubhicotane were our name, it would have to be an all make/all model club, and most of us are wanting muscle cars. it has to be somewhat narrowed down to something. also, with writing by laws, initiation stuff, all that, juju and lee would probably want to read through all that and we would have to modifiy it too their liking. not say they wouldnt agree with stuff with did, but whatever we did it should be 100% what we want and how we want it.

I didn't vote because of instructions in the threads, but just wanted to play "devils advocate", and present another side...


There have been quite a few new members that have joined recently that maybe did not know about the old club, and thought that the Sunday get togethers were just hanging out. As for me, I honestly didn't know that a club existed, and just thought that it was a sub-forum of the CHO site.

These may have been people that if invited to have some input in a new club, would have made the extra effort to be involved in it as they would feel that it was something they were part of at the beginning.

I see it kind of like my work. If I have a project that I am a part of at the start, you can bet I will be there to see it through until it's finished. Once complete, I still have a great interest in it because of the contributions that I made.

I can also see the point of those who started the original club. It's the same thing. It was their work at the beginning that got it off the ground, and ultimately I know they want to see it grow.

Personally, I think that if something new is started from the ground up and people want it to be different than before, then you have to involve all who might be interested. These include the newer people.

Just my opinion...oh and FWIW, I like David's suggested name.

I see your point and agree with it what you are saying. The point I was trying to make is that right now you are just voting on a name.

A name is typically going to be what brings attention to a club at first, and even if some of the newbies don't show up after it's said and done, it's still an accurate reflection of the demographics of what people think sounds good.

But then again, you did have a post asking for name suggestions..so I guess my point really doesn't make a point..:D :think:

but one that i think needs to be set in stone, is this needs to be left up to the foolks who have been in this for a while. with car clubs, membership is msot of the time based on invitation. this is bc with clubs, the people are just as important as the cars. we would want to get to know someone well and see how they act, what kind of person they are, etc on top of the car they have before allowing them to join something we create. its how all the real deal clubs do it, and i think we should try to stick to that the best we can.

When the motor goes on the vettte it will be built for 700hp im not a high roller like chris moore or chris g for that fact so 700hp in a 3000lb car is plenty enough for me. I dont find that much joy in cars anymore thats why i havent done much to the vette i find way more joy in seeing my little girl happy buying her stuff or taking her to the beach and watching her thats where my joy comes from. so i could care less about a 1000hp car.

I think the whole initial idea of changing the name was to take the club to the next level. Like Scott said, the whole holier than thow attitude of the UFB needs to be squashed! However old habits die hard. It was still very apparent that that Stigma was still present. This is why it wont work. Just like basic training, all must be broke down in order to build something better. So all you guys just put your ego's down.
As said many times, no one group made this site a success, nor one person. ClubHiOctane was here before the UFB and UFB members have been posting in other forums other than there own. This site belongs to Lee and BadJUJU not F-ing Camaro's.
This whole who comes out more and who pulls whos pickle the best is stupid. If you set all that BeeShit aside we all are very lucky to have a group of bad ass Cars and guys that all can help eachother, and forming a club is a great step to take. If everyone can just agree that much then we may be ready to take the next step. No body wants to be forced into a club by a over Zealous event coordinator. So maybe we try again after the dust settles, and everyone has learned from this.

Or we can all just stay the way we are. That works :bye:

This thread is about 6 miles off topic now. Some facts here and some opinions. Its still looking like the "whole" club deal isn't going to work. Maybe Gary can start his UYB club and we'll just keep UFB. And nothing will physically change except maybe a new forum. :)
