View Full Version : Weird, more power then a 454 lsx?

This vettes got a 454 LSX iron block and it only made 505 at the wheel?

Most of the big cubic inch LS based motors only make like between 500-540 WHP..

How'd I make 538WHP with stock intake/throttle body and these big cubic inch guys are making such low power?

I ordered a 92/92 today as well, hoping to make 560 WHP or more.. crossin my fingers.. Also got a new thermostat and a few other things as well to squeeze out a few more horses.

dyno number are only dyno numbers. could of been a mustang dyno. you should take it to the track and see what it mph 's,

X3, the dyno is a great tool. But, the timeslip tells the story.

Not really, cause my car has a stock suspension and rearend and what not, couldn't do much at a dragstrip.. I don't really like the dragstrip cause you break and wear out alot of stuff there.. No point in going there really.. I've had no problems out of my motor or rearend/tranny, simply because I avoid racing from a dig.. First time I tried to race at the dragstrip I broke my driveshaft, NOT going there again, lol. My subaru only had exhaust and a reflash and ran 7.80's at the dragstrip.. Basically a stock car, only had 350whp.. H/C Camaro's which make over 450whp run about that with a good tire, rearend and stuff.. I think it's biased.

just make a mph pass, dont launch hard and just get to third and roll into in on the juice.

1) a 450 whp f-body will run LOW 7's.
2) you dont have to launch hard to get a good pass to see your MPH, the best way to measure power is the mph of the run.

1) a 450 whp f-body will run LOW 7's..properly set up F-body can go low 7s with less than 350 whp :lame:
