I was invited here by Gary. Saw/met some of yall at QS&L sunday night. Just trying to mingle on this site some. I have a 98 GT with a builod motor and nitrous. Currently awaiting a rearend install. Some may have seen me run at greer. Just broke my rear about a month ago. Any questions? Ill be glad to answer....And i'm running 7.9's at greer on slicks.

Launching on slicks with a 150 shot. Had 1.6 60ft, ran 1.7 60 ft and 8.4 on motor. with slicks. The 7.9 was on drag radials. Never got a good time with slick on spray. Clutch was slipping.

Well, hope ya get it back going. Im really surprised thats all it took to blow it, been cutting 1.6 60's on a 8.5 10 bolt for the last 2 years and its still going strong, maybe ya just had a case of bad luck.

Its really not. I run 7.2's and its not that fast. Ive been in a high 5 second car low 6 second car (not driving) and thats fast... 7 second cars are fast for street cars, but they are a dime a dozen. No offense ( obviously not trying to be mean, since I drive a seven second car at the strip)

Dont get all butt hurt, the only reason i was asking is b/c i didnt know if it was having trouble getting down the track. And no 7's are not impressive, MAYBE for mustang folks but us lt1/ls1 guys can do that easily. But to answer your question, the fastest time i ever went was 7.70's w/ bolt ons and not spraying til 2nd gear.

well to prove a point my car is only ran 7.9s and is 410hp but ive ran with cars running 7.2 and faster and have out ran them on the street by many car lengths. So track times are not always legit but i say mid 7 are quick but not fast enough to make a big deal over.

Im glad with the number I have run, Im just saying its not impressive. and 500-600 hp cars in the sevens must not be hooking, Ive done it with a $500 motor that makes about 400 to the wheels (run 7.5 on motor, and 7.2 blowing through a converter a week on about a 80 shot or so since the solenoid was bad.) You dont have to be 650+ to be in the 6's. My times were done with a full interior + added weight of roll bar. There's a few guys on here with bolt on f-bodies's running 7's (some w/o spray).

Oh, and if you can get the clutch issue worked out, that 90 mph trap is good for a sub 7.5 second run.
