I just wanted to say thanks again to Charles and Jeff. You guys seen the results from what they did with my car. The car drove better than it ever had since my cam swap

Well as you may know, I have a squeak/squeal that has been driving me crazy. I had replaced both Tensioners, Idlers, Alternator Bearings, and new belts all around. After all of this...I still had it. It bothered me to the point that I didn't even want to drive the car at times.

Well Jeff told me I was welcome to bring it to his house, and that he and Charles would have a look at it. Charles took it home the next day, and called me about a day after that. He found the problem and fixed it. Turns out I was having issues with my PCV system. I would have never thought to look at that, and didn't know it could cause the issues I was having. It also makes me wonder how many other cars with mods like mine are havng that issue to no avail.

While Charles had the car, he went ahead and installed my Column Lock Bypass mod. I went and picked it up this afternoon, and Charles had also made some minor changes in the tune to make sure that my PCV problem didn't negatively affect anything.

I can't express how it felt driving home. Running 70mph on I-85 in 6th gear, it was smooth as a button at ~1500 rpm. I feel that the car runs smoother than it did even when it was stock.

Oh..I also got the chance to play some. Getting onto 176 in front of Milliken, I had a nice looking black Challenger pull up beside me with a prety wide open road ahead and rev at me. I don't know if he had any mods, but he had some huge wheels. I can't believe how big that car is in person. He looked like a 4x4 beside me. At about 40 mph with me in 3rd gear, we kicked it off. I never downshifted and pulled him very bad to about 100 before backing off. I swear it wasn't even remotely close.

Anyway, you can't go wrong with these guys. Charles even called me when I got home to make sure that everything was still fine and if I was satisfied. They are really "stand-up" guys, and go above and beyond anything I have ever experienced.

Thanks guys!!

That is a nice post Todd, most of the time tuners only get called out when they screw your car up. Nice to see them get some props for doing a good job. Glad the car is running well.

It's a switch that sits behind the kicker panel and olugs into your harness that prevents the steering wheel from locking. For some reason, C5's have had a big issue with these. I don't know if there was a recall, but there were TSB's about it. Apparantly GM had a fix for it, but most say it still doesn't help.

Apparantly one day you can put your key in the ignition, and you will get an error message telling you to remove the key for 10 seconds, and the steering wheel will not unlock. It has even happened to people going down the road.

There are a lot of threads about it on CF, and most people just go ahead and install the bypass so that they don't have to worry about it.

This is because cars normally leave here running much better then they have in a long time, this is why so many people will post how well there cars are running now. A trained monkey with a laptop can tune a car on the dyno at WOT. Driveability is what separates the tuners from the hacks. We get called out allot.

c.dub is a great guy and has helped me out more times than i can count. i would also like to add that you can tell someone truly knows what they are doing when they can explain all the intricate details of how things work to you. -and not miss a beat.

I will definately get it out there. I hope to get the rear diff and clutch installed within the next 4-6 weeks, and shortly after that begin looking for tires for my new wheels.

From what I have seen, I will probably be going with the Toyo R888's with a 305/30/19 on the rear, and 275/35/18 on the front.

Yeah that thing will probably haul down the 1/8. BJ had mine at Greer last night and it went 8.3 with a 2.22 60' at 94mph with the TC turned on. Tried it with TC turned off and it was just punishing the tires.

Na I got a set of Firestone Wide Ovals, still a street tire though. I would say easy in the 7's on dr's at Greer and maybe even faster at Shadyside.

Glad to hear everything is running great Todd. I have to say that I haven't heard one negative comment about tuning from these two guys since I first heard of them. And when you look at their vehicles its pretty obvious they know exactly what they are doing.

Not quite sure. I didn't see any badges, but the guy had the car completely blacked out. Do only those have hood scoops as it had those, or do all of the Challengers have them?

I have never seen any posted times. But it shocked me how big this car was. I had heard that they were heavy, but this car was huge!

It looked real nice though.

I just looked up the specs...

SRT8 425/420 - 4,140 lbs
R/T 375/404 - 4,050 lbs

Wow..I didn't know they weighed that much. What is up with the new muscle cars being so heavy?

Well I guess more than just the styling is retro, damn things weighs about what a 70's Challenger would have weighed. Todd, that is the great thing about our Vettes 1/2 a ton advantage right off the rip.

BJ has done a good job on the car so far. He is the one that drove it last night. I sometimes wonder if its my car or his lol.
