02 c5 Vette vs. 02 SS camaro who would win?

Both are automatics to take away some of the driver skills required and both equal drivers, who do you think would win in 1/4?

And whichever one you think would lose desribe how you think that one could win...

example, "I think the vette would win but if the SS was stripped down then it would win" etc...

'Vette. Better tuning from the factory and lighter.

SS - hmmm... - with tuning and better tires, could probably take the 'vette if it was still on stock tires.

unless its one of the extremely rare stripper SS cars(like i have), i think the vette would win. vette should get better traction and is lighter weight. also, vette has better gears i believe(don't quote me on that)

what gears would the vette have? i think there was more than one option

hmmm not sure Whichever gear set was more common i guess. Somebody know what gear sets and etc.. came on the vette. I know the A4 camaro had two options 2.73's and 3.24's I believe

IRS in vette hurts its launch.

If the SS had good tires it could get enough of a lead to hold the vette off for the 1/4

Otherwise win for the vette

stripper=???

I would think a vette would win otherwise whats the whole performance persona about with a vette suppose to the fastest GM car and all that. I gues I never realized they were that close in performance.

so what is a stripper(car)? I thought a stripper was no power crap bare bones kinda deal but I also thought the SS's and T/As pretty much came loaded out:confused:

our SS has 2 options, SS and M6. not a damn electrical option on the car. no defrost, cd player, mirrors, windows, seats, t-tops. normally they did come loaded. ours was a special order. and T/As were all loaded

A stripper car is something that has pretty much all wieght adding options removed. Some vehicles can come up 200 lbs less after you remove all the factory options. AC, Electric seats, power everything, fog lights, etc...

I would have power locks and windows. I guess it just goes along with my motto if it aint fast enough spray it. Probably why I built a forged 418 and have a kit that can spray a 350 shot:deal:

spray and pray... the bottle will make up for the weight difference.

I'd loved to have voted for the SS, but all things being equal I had to say Vette! Now, if one were to follow Jaberwaki's "weight reduction plan", the SS would have a chance for sure. Anyhow, just my http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/sign/sign0134.gif
