View Full Version : My new numbers!
Well, we finished up with the Cartek heads, Fast setup, supporting mods, and tune today. I was pleasantly surprised.
I will wait on Jeff to post the dyno file as I honestly can't remember the exact numbers. But let me just say the car pulls very strong, and I can tell a big difference.

Im sure it put down some good numbers todd. give us some pics of the new setup along with the numbers.
I will. I will let Jeff put up the graph when he gets the chance.
As for pics, I will snap a few of those as well. I have to do some trimming on my FRC's before I can put them back on as they wouldn't clear the Fast intake.

I bet its an Animal now! Just ditch the FRC's. If you don't have some FAST fuel rails, now is the time to invest in some and paint the coil packs.

Thanks for the idea. That would work/look nice.
Oh..and thanks to your head studs, I got to raise the rev limiter. The setup pulls all the way to it without falling off. I honestly don't know how much more it would carry past, but you guys will see when the graph is up.

Dang, nice numbers.
Does anyone know who can tune the v6 cars? I know plenty of people deal with l(s/t)1, but no sixxers. Right now I just want some codes turned off, but later a cam and supporting mods, lmk guys.

nice numbers todd!
Thanks guys.
What impressed me was that it pulled all the way to the rev limiter which was raised, and each pull showed no sign of it starting to drop off. I just wonder how far it would have carried past 7K although I would not spin it that high.

Have to give me a ride in it or let me drive it  j/k
Not a problem. Let me get the 3:90's and new clutch put in first.
That way it makes a better impression as your car is a beast already!!

Nasty Todd, just nasty. It is going to be absolute hell with the 3.90 gears. I wouldn't push it past 7K either with stock rod bolts.
I tried telling Gary the other day that 450 was nothing with a FAST combo on top of a H/C LS1. He just refused to believe. A more agressive cam and some milling of the heads to boost compression, and it would be nothing to crank out 475+ on the dyno.
Edit: and maybe an EWP with belts off :D

This is true. The guy I bought the heads from made 487 I believe.
But you also look at some of those graphs, and they are real peaky. I'm very happy with the tq my car made down low.

I believe it. These heads were milled .030 and my cam is not big by a lot of standards.

Oh yea. There are several. Gary seems to think they are not streetable cars. I read Patrick G's mod list on his TA that made 508rwhp with a stock bottom end LS1. He just had a LOT of head work. They were AFR's milled to 57cc and ported extensively. And he of course spec'ed out his own cam. His Torque Curve (http://guerragroup.com/PG6-14-07dyno2.jpg) looks pretty nice to me.
Again, congrats Todd. I'm ready to see it in action taking names.

My GTO is perfectly streetable and I can lug the thing down below 1200 rpm's and it's perfectly smooth! There's many in here that could chime in and vouch for that too! ;)

Patrick G's car was more of a "no expense spared" 347 N/A build though.

Todd's car is one of the nicest combinations I have seen for a heads/cam car! We pulled up several other dyno files and overlaid them against his, none of them had the torque come in so early like that.

That's what I'm sayin, you need to come back and drive it with the 18's and not Pro Stars though. I still love this car and would not be disappointed at all if it didn't sell.

Ah, that would be nice too! But the good thing is that the Goat will still be in the area and part of the upstate crew... at least it's looking that way right now. :D
Now, back to praising Todd's car!!
Jeff,
Do you think it would hinder anything if I were to take of the Borla XR-1 for a Z06 TI exhaust? I know the TI is a pretty free flowing exhaust, and is comparable in weight to what I have now.
Just thinking that it would really surprise a few people with the exhaust note toned down a little.

I don't think it would take away anything at all... I say go for it. Charles has done some testing and only picked up 5 hp by disconnecting his stock C5 mufflers and running them open. Z06 exhaust would be even better...

I know they sell with low miles for around $300 on some of the forums. I may see if I can trade mine out for even as long as the other person pays the shop charges for swapping them over since mine sell for more.

I figured Jeff would have pulled some out due to the bump in compression to avoid spark knock.
Yeah. They said they weren't that aggressive with it because of the bump in compression.
As per advertised specs (.050), your SCR is ~ 11.3:1 (actualy a bit less, so I would say 11.2x), and your DCR shows ~8.53 (actualy a bit less like 8.4x)
This is what I found out.

I wish my heap was as light as an FRC. I did the bolt ons on Butch's car this past weekend and took it down the road. It is much faster than my car making close to the same amount of power.
If I could fit in a vette without looking rediculous trying to squeeze out of it, it would definitely be on my list to buy one day.
