I got my Nitrous solenoid taken apart at the moment. Im checking the plunger and screen to see if I have a clogg or trash in it.
Last week I took the car back to JRracing for some Nitrous tuning with Charles. We upped the shot to a 150 sure we would see 600rwhp easy, seeing how the 125 shot got me 570rwhp and 612TQ. NOPE! The 150 shot got me 540HP. After doing some trouble shooting we found that my Nitrous bottle was faulty. So we swapped it out for one lying around the shop that had great pressure. Still was only able to get 550's with the 150 jetting, I will say the shot is much safer a shot due to me rewiring the FJO as a 2 stage system with Fuel on Stage 1 and Nitrous on Stage 2, having the fuel come in just a hair sooner than the nitrous stage. It works if your dealing with a inital hit lean spike. Charles did a good job tuning the shot to be fatter and safe.
I think the pick up tube in my bottle has trash clogging it becouse after pulling the bottle out I opened the valve fully open and it was just cold air with spirts of nitrous machine gunning out, while I was doing this Charles and Matt saw something shoot out and the bottle seemed to get better. With that said I think trash may have shot out the bottle and may have found its way to my solenoid. So im trying to find the issue .

LMAO @ nitrous fuel filter. I have a fuel filter just like you. There is a Nitrous filter you can put in line, but I dont have one. Nitrous solenoids have screens built in though. I got it apart to check the screen.

I know wanker lol...heard about people getting junk from tape,thread dope at valve fitting etc etc. Hense recommend nitrous fuel filter why "lol" thats what its called

For people that want to overhaul or check their solenoids out just follow these steps. If you are not 100% sure you want to do this or can do this, just send your NX solenoids in, you only need to pay the freight and or for a coil if coil burn out has happened.

You will need a solenoid wrench. Pn15733 This tool is a must for any one serious about there nitrous and racing.
You will remove the large nut at the top of you solenoid, and remove the coil. Now you will need to put the solenoid into a vise. Using the same tool there are 2 little holes that corresponds with the wrench, remove the tower.
Care should be taken not to loose any of these components.
After the tower is removed you will see the piston, spring, and o-ring.
If any debris is found on the piston just wipe it off carefully, and then blow the solenoid out with compressed air. Blowing air backwards through your filter will blow any trash out of the inlet. reinstall your o-ring in the base, now install the spring on to the piston, slide the piston back into the tower, and very careful reinstall the tower to base. Now you can reinstall the coil and tighten the nut. (IT should be snug tight not ½ inch braker bar tight) It is EXTREMELY important that you do not have any parts get into a bind when reinstalling. If you damage any one of the listed parts the solenoid will not work properly.

ok have your ears on, me and david have talked about this for a while. the lines you are running are good to a 175 shot. thats motor rated. your 150 shot is wheel rated for the nos kit you have. really is similar to to 190 shot or so. 20% drive train loss. so your really running a 190 sshot on it. when you run the 125 pillls the nitrous jet is good because is about 160hp worth of nitrous. when the 150 pillls go in it doesnt flow enough fuel. i had this problem and upgraded to steel tubing lines. similar to direct port and it fixed it. also look at your plunger size on the noids. that may only flow a 150 shot. also i would swap out that max air setup and do a single nozzle. that much nitrous could be messing with the air flow through the mass air being so close to it.

you sure you have the fjo setup correctly?

Also fat wont save anything, if the curves are off then boom. just set it up like my old setup.

11.7 a/r to 5250
12.5 a/r 5250 to redline
26* timing at 3k ramping to 30* at 6k
timing 6k-7k ramp back down to 27*.

Set it ....................and forget it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Few things you think are missinformed LOL
1) My solenoids are rated at a 250 shot
2) My kit is NX not NOS
3) The car showed up super rich all the time
4) I made more power of a 125 shot than the 150 shot
5) I was having a bad bottle clog issue
6) The same lines I have the same lines that handle 200 shots all day..


Just a few facts. I am counting on you and Tim as my nitrous guys for help. You make some good points though. I think im having a issue with trash from my nitrous bottle. Its all really odd. I will try and get my graphs with AirFuel readings from Matt.

I dont see anything wrong with my solenoid as of now. I looks to be fine and no trash. Now I need to look at the Maf piece that sprays the fuel and nitrous.

those -3 lines are too small, your able to flow the fuel but not the nitrous. me and david put 82s in my car and it got slower than the 73s. my a/f went pig rich. i would just tune it the way i posted above period. then get a stanalone or fuel rails with a reg. then you wont have to worry about fuel issues. it will be the cheapest way to go, one intake backfire and your out 300 bucks. bring the nitrous in at a 50% shot and ramp over 1 second to 150 on stage 1, on stage 2 bring the fuel in at 60-70% 0.02 sooner than than stage 1. if you still have issues it will rule out you tune and fuel. after that if it still is messed get a new nitrous kit and after that if still doesnt work sell it all and go turbo.

GREAT ADVISE .. Im no quitter. I will get my mark. I may for now just go back to what worked. The single stage 125 shot did very well. I will work threw it.

humm....its an lt1 ita always had a timer..... but I'm planning on changing some things in the next week or so and it should step the game up a few levels....it will be a month or so before I can run if things go good so that's why I was wanting to get this out of the way.. I want to make nemesis my wheaties

Ironic you say this in MY Thread that I started to discuss my issue with my Nitrous. I have all my Nitrous crap off the car as of now. Thanks for shitting all over my thread were im trying to get imput on what to check. So with that said how bout you run me motor to motor since your so confident you can handle me. i did find what caused my motor to go, it was not the motor at all. it was the t400 trans, one of the fluid passages needs to be restricted. it had built too much pressure and the converter got pushed forward on the trans brake causing the crank to move forward taking out the thrust bearing. it wasnt the lucas stabilizer or oil weight. new motor setup should be here this upcoming friday. with a couple new additons

tightened up stall converter
lingenfelter two step
alky injection

sounds like your taking the problem as an opportunity to make it faster. That thing should really roll out when youre able to up the boost with that alky. do you run on pump gas now, or race gas?

ive been running 6 gals 110 to 6 gals 93, didnt really need it but i was planning on creeping up the boost and tune but never got around to it.

Well back to Topic, im shipping my bottle and Noid out to Nitrous Express to be checked out. I pumped some nitrous into my bottle to test it this morning and its not spraying out correctly. Kinda sprays in spirts, not consistant at all.

you shouldve just taken the valve out of the bottle and looked for trash in there while it was empty.... also you can disassemble the valve and clean it and the tube out.

I have'nt shipped it yet. How would One do this? Just wrench it off? I was told there is a O ring or crush gasket, does it have to be replaced once the valve steam is removed?

as far as the whole valve, yea there is a big rubber o-ring under it. i reused mine when i had it apart.
i believe you can get a rebuild kit for the valves as well, but i just replaced mine with a hi-flo unit. (was an old NOS bottle)
anyways, the valve just screws in the top of the bottle. you need to make sure its empty before doing this, however, as it could become a bullet when it comes off of that last thread.

Yes it was a brand new Kit. I guess something happened that caused the bottle harm. Maybe when I last took it to PowerParts and had him top the bottle off last.
