Ok Traction is a issue and I need Help on choosing a good Drag Radial.
I will be leaving the DR on the car all summer so the size must fit a 18 by 10.5 rim. I have heard good and bad things bout all the DR on the market. Its confussing. BFGoods wearout fast, Nittos are good to some and suck for others? So help me find a good Drag Radial that can stick the powa!!

I would like to get more than 5,000 miles out of what ever DR I get.

nittos are good in the rain, BFG suck in the rain, mickey thompsons dont take well to being heat cycled a lot...
if its not going to be driven in the rain and you dont plan on driving the wheels off of it then the MT or BFG...

Rain will not be a issue. I know better than that LOL. I like the new M/T kyle but im a noob at the way they show there sizes. I think on vettes you cant go to tall. I would like a 305 on a 18 inch rim. My rims are 10.5 wide. Im really leaning torward the Nitto555 but it seems everyone runs them.

you might be able to stuff the 335 18 that MT has in the "new tread"
also have you considered the BFG KDW "NT"? they are sticky as shit once heated up...
hi officer

if you dont want them to wear out buy a street tire. if you want to hook buy something that wears out quick.
tires size go like this, 275 40 R17
-275 is width, side wall to side wall, in milimeters
-40 is a percentage that tells you sidewall height, for example 40% of 275mm equals the sidewall height in milimeters.
-R stands for radial and 17 is your wheel size.
*a lot of tires vary slighty from one manufacturer to another

if you wanna hook decent power stay away from the shittos. but it must not be reallly that big of a concern or else you wouldn'be worried about hookin 18s. every one knows that is hard to do since the side wall is so small not enough flex there. i would vote mts over everything but hooziers. since we only have nittos and bfgs i say bfgs

Nemesis must be ready for business at all times. LOL I like the BFG, M/T, or even the Nitto555 just cuz there are still better than what im running now. So any DR will be better. Depends on how much suspension tuning you want to do.
The full slick is forgiving as compared to the DR where it has to be just right or else it wont work.
Conrad's nitrous car on DRs, controller set .1 sooner or later and it will blow the tires off, but get it right, the SOB rolls out.

My rims are 18x10.5, so no 17 inch tire will work

If you want a tire to last 5,000 miles you had better get the nittos. They donot hook as well as others but they will last with some care. I would also ask around about the M/T street radials as I am sure they are not as good as the drag radials but should last longer. These are your only two choices.

I'm also looking into some sort of drag radial to run on my street wheels (18"). But I'm having a hard time justifying nearly $300 a piece on something that might not even last me a year! But the Nitto's will be the best deal as far as cost, longevity, and the fact that I can drive them in the rain if necessary. I think StreetlethalZ quoted me $240 a piece for the 285/18's. as kyle stated those are a stiff sidewall dr for road racing and aren't going to be what your looking for....from nitto's site:
The NT01 is a D.O.T.-compliant dry competition radial designed with the weekend road racer in mind. The compound was developed to provide the best balance of traction, consistency, heat cycle performance and longevity. The sidewall construction* is optimized for sharp steering response, accurate feedback and increased driver confidence. For those that demand maximum dry performance, the NT01 can be shaved from 6/32 of an inch down to 3/32 of an inch to reveal a slick with two circumferential grooves. The NT01 delivers fast and consistent lap times for both the professional road-racer and the track-day enthusiast.
*Steel reinforced sidewall offered in select sizes. The NT01 is recommended for dry competition use.
