Price and they have a decent riding position. I want something I can spend several hours in the saddle on but still have decent looks and performance.

I like the reissue Triumphs, not a Harley, not a Jap bike --- a little different with a cool heritage...
I've seen a sweet used Speed Triple for less than $5K, and the new Bonneville and other cruiser models are cool at a relatively low price...
If I didn't have young kids, I'd have already maimed myself on one...

I've owned a variety of 125's to 250 class Suzuki's & Yamahas for enduro in women's class. I won't say I was ever that good, I eventually ended up getting out after losing an argument with a tree and ending up in a cast to my hip for 6 months. When I got out of the cast, not being able to ride for so long messed with my mind. I could ride but not at speed. So started riding other friends street bikes. My favorite belonged to a friend of my Dad, it was a Triumph Bonneville. That was my personal favorite. I've ridden Harleys (found them too heavy for me) an old Suzuki 2 stroke 500cc twin. Right now looking at 650 class street cruisers. Looking at the Suzuki single, Yamaha v-twin, and really want the Triumph 750 twin but nearest dealership is in Houston. So... may get car toy instead.

92 Suzuki GSX-R 1100, I had to have it because of its powerful motor. I would probably buy any bike thought that had alot of power. Speeking of Triumphs, I live close to a dealer and they make the best looking "crotch rocket" I have seen.

I too am a Yamaha fan. Those are always my choice bikes.
The RC51 is an amazing machine. In a straight line, i've outran 999's all day long. In the twisties it's anybody's game although i'm partial to the RC because it's Ducati performance for 1/4th the cost. I will probably buy another RC soon, I really like those bikes. The TQ for the street is like driving a 500 rwhp 4:56 geared car, it's bad ass.

you see.. I kinda have a thing for brit bikes. built my first one at 12 yrs old with pops and have been in love with the weird little things ever since... I am in the market for a new Thruxton 900 and going to put the turbo kit on it... it will be a bad machine when I'm done with it... I do like the newer sportbikes too but if I had to decide on just one it would have to be an R1... they are beautiful and crazy fast...

I owned a motorcyle before I ever owned a car....
1st was a lil Honda 200 Twinstar, then a Honda CM450E, next came a cold-blooded Kawasaki 454 (road that one from Chicago down to Ft. Lauderdale & back), after that came three Honda CBR600's and finally a "newly" acquired '99 Yamaha R6 that I still have.
