Intake question

im interested in changing intakes on my car. i want to keep good bottom and mid-range power. i have heard that the fast 90/90 takes away from bottom end a good bit. What intake would be good for my swap. bbk 85mm??

what are the mods on your car ? Where did you read this ? First time i have heard someone say they lose power with a fast intake in any range. Heads /cam love the extra flow. I would get a fast 92/92 and get it ported .

+1... that intake wont be worth the money if you have stock heads/cam esp. since you already have the ls6 intake you *might* gain like 8-10 rwhp

I actually have seen some ls1s picking up 20hp over ls6 on a stockish motor . gary can back me up on this one we both seen the graphs at vegeance. Some cars respond better than others .

even then, its almost a grand for 20 hp, when you can get a cam/supporting mods/tune for about the same and pick up more than that. not saying the FAST intakes aren't worth it, cause they are definitely some of the best on the market, but that'll be my last mod.

I agree it def wouldnt go in until i had something for it to work with like a cam or heads. I was just helping him since someone said they lost power through the powerband with it and i seen some cars pick up good power with them. Im still sporting the stock ls6 intake lol.

lucky... its a shame they didnt change intakes when they went to the 241 heads in mid 00, then my car would be sporting an LS6 intake as well. :violin:

Wasnt sure how many saw it in the sponsors section and the talk around LS6 intakes brought it back to mind and that I will be in Gville area picking up and dropping off stuff.
