For christmas i may buy myself a nice car buffer so i can get my stuff lookin real nice and also make a little money on the side doing stuff for other people. i'm at a crossroads and cant decide whether to fork out money for a nice buffer, or just get a cheap one from harbor freight. im not gonna use the stuff every day so keep that in mind! i already have my polish and pads picked out, just cant decide ont he tool itself! all the message board communities allll bow down to the porter cable buffer, but would ireally need soemthin that nice since i wont be using it that much?

hmmm id go with 2nd,why not looking into buffer with more surface area like they use at detail shops etc jw? then again i guess that surface size be ideal for berger panel etc.Just buffing takes so damn long with larger surface im sure it be FOREVER with that size

ish spins in a circle man amps higher on 2nd, i think on 1st you paying for that pretty page setup lol.As long as orbit rate comparable and warranty go cheap route. Spend more on pads and polish IMO

If you're using it daily, spend the $120. It will pay for itself in a couple months.

with the porter cable, people say its nearly impossible to burn through the paint with it with it being a random orbital motion. but im sure i could be careful with a rotary too. idk what diamond cutter is, but there are 100s of polishes to chose from and ive found one that im gonna try out that has real good reviews.

instead of haveing 3 different polishes and 3 differnt pads, its just one polish and a two sided pad (one side wool one side foam). read up on system one x3 polish, seems to be good stuff and will be real easy to use and take half the time of other stuff.

well they have 4 inch pads, 6 inch pads, and 8 inch pads for this stuff so im gonna get a 6 more than likely

heres a video of the guys using this type of polish with the chicago, its pretty neat the the same polish is cutting and removing swirls by just changing the pad

My boss had a nice Craftsman buffer that he bought new from sears. It was the best buffer I have ever used and we used the shit out of it. Even a rookie like me could make you see yourself in 20 year old paint. I like the 8 inch pads personally, same outcome, just faster.

lol claybar and wax make it "smooth as silk"

im talkin about using this to remove any swirls or scratches. mine right now is smoother than it has ever been, but i just want something to remove all the stuff that you cant remove by hand. itd also be nice to make a lil money with it too, i know a ton of people who would rather pay me $100 to get their paint looking brand new, rather than paying a detail shop $350

That sucks man. I bet you were sick. I have a milwaukee buffer that i have had for 5 years and it has been great. I think just get the better quality buffer whether it be the most exspensive or not. So it will last longer.

Sick as a dog when I saw that bro. It means that the insurance company total lossed my car and gave me a piddly ass check. I can still drive it though, it just sucks to.
