its just so hard to coordinate people talking on it. like "hey everyone get on tongiht at 9 pm and we'll use chat" its just too hard to get more than 3 people in there at once and keep a steady convo while still replying to other posts IMO

If anything, I want to make those big ones go away (into a different window) so they don't screw up the display of the pages, LOL.

I don't mind adding smileys at all, as long as they're used.

I just don't like the way vB displays them on the post page.

I think it would be used much more if we knew that someone was in the room. Is it possible to put something on the homepage that will tell us if anyone is in the chat room, like it tells us if someone is online now?

It's on the forum home, but not on the site home page.

Look at the bottom of the main forum listing, where the users online, newest user, etc is and you should see a blurb about who is in the chat room.

VBA (vBAdvanced) is the script I use for the home page. I will try to create a 'block' on the home page that shows who's in the chat room.

I frequent another forum that is dedicated to blacksmithing and blade smithing (Custom knives and swords) It too has a chat. And a block that says who's there. It appears to be powered by the same software as this forum. It is so active some days that its difficult to follow the conversation at times but it is a great tool to keep in touch with fellow smiths around the world! Don't have to have a specific time. That chat is used world wide but even here in the states, its evening for everyone for at least a couple hours. I'll check in if you guys will ! :)
