i had a fuel leak, found it and it was the fuel filter, o rings went bad, easy 13 dollar swap fixed her right up.

i left the car jacked up at a pretty sharp angle overnight, saw a little brake fluid on my exhaust manifold, thought maybe it ran out of an overflow or resevoir or something.

thought nothing else about it, wiped it off, drove to my grandma's...when i get there my shit is SMOKING pretty bad underneath the hood, i open the hood and a low pressure fog starts heading towards florida

i immediately drive back to the house, and man every time i hit the clutch OR the brakes im getting fluid, i pump the brakes it drips and finally stops, then i pump the clutch and it start back up, so im stumped on whether its a master cylinder gone bad or a busted line

well i cant find a drop of anything in the engine bay, so i ruled out the brake master cylinder

i looked for about 11 more hours, but you cant see anything where it was coming from, i did good to get 3 fingers on the loom that the lines run through, and it was coming from above that

well i finally just decide to take it to the dealership, and go ahead and get ready for a big ole giant 900 dollar (or so) raping

the part they put on was 16 bucks....i got charged 270 for labor...BUT its fixed and 1/3 the cost i was expecting...so oh well

the clutch retainer clip had came loose, and rubed a hole in my brake line, they tried to weld it, and that didnt hold, so the last option (they said) was to cut the section out and replace it and hope it didnt leak, they didnt say how they tied them in, i have no idea what they would have done, compression fittings?

only other option was to replace the entire line--which involved dropping the transmission, so im glad we didnt have to go that route

any way...back on the road :) watch out

ps sorry its so long:burnout:

That was a really expensive $16 fix. I can't believe they tried welding on brake lines..?? That doesn't sound too safe.

At Least Nothing Bad Happened When Driving Around. Thank God For That; A Buddy Of Mine Had A Wreck Trying To Get Back Home. Luckily He Had Just A Few Scratches.

ya, i coudlnt have cut that piece of line and re attached it so, i figured 300 wasnt too awfully bad, i would have been trying to run braided stainless as a replacement if i was able to find it; what sucks is i was literally about to buy a longtube system before this happened, i always get deterred after component failure ;\

Don't let it get you down. Things are always going to wear, and eventually give out. When you are making some serious power, things are going to break more often. Brake system problems are a lot more rare though. But hey, you gotta have brakes.

Yeah I Agree With Dave, Don't Let It Get You Down. I Was Going To Get A Camaro Until I Had To Have Shoulder Surgery. Take The Bad With The Good And Keep On Trucking!!!
