if youre gonna build a rearend....just go ahead and get a 9 inch or 12 bolt. i cant speak from experience, but everyone says building a 10 bolt is still on borrowed time. go ahead and step up with a 9 inch or 12 bolt and be done with it for good.

If you can't afford to drop that kind of money on a 9" or 12-bolt yet, you can have studs and a T/A girdle put on your rear. Also, you can run a different rearend gear oil. Jay can tell you what it is called. Robbie Israel supposedly swears by it.

These few things can help make your stock rear a little stronger, but nowhere near the strength of a 9". You do have an automatic though, so you can load the rear and have far less chance of breaking something than a 6-speed car.

hey now, i have a girtle and a 3.73, i use to launch at 3200 with my converter, shitty 1.5 60 foots but with a 10 bolt and ET streets. heck it held 618rwtq. i still have in under the car for now. just get a girtle and make sure your gears are setup right, youll be fine. automatics are easy on rearends, also i can put a tune on your tranny to help it last much longer. ive done a couple cars on this site, ask chris davis or jon i think they are the others with automatics.

you know you are going to catch hell for that remark. I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't say something like: "Thats not all Jay likes in his rear"

options to beef up a 10 bolt, in order of importance

1. girdle cover
2. Weld axle tubes
3. Moser axles

that will make it last a while, if that doesnt cut it, then get a 12 bolt.

The beginning of August should be one hell of a time then!! You, Me, Will, and Kent should all be finishing our builds around the same time!
