You Should Buy Those. Those Are The Ones That Chris Has On The Roush And Dont Have Any Problem With Traction From Any Rolls. They Are Good Tires. The Ones Butch Has Is The Old Kind. They Only Make Those In 18". You Or David Should Buy Them So You Dont Have To Trade Out Rims.

I don't mind trading rims, my 18's are so much heavier than the 17's anyway.

Yea But Not Enough To Make That Much Difference. It Looks So Much Better With The 18's On It Though. I Just Like The Idea Of Haveing The Same Wheels On The Car. I Used To Mix Match Mine Also. Well Hell I Still Will. I Have 2 Bullet Hole Weld's To Mount Slicks On So I Can Leave My Pro Stars On The Car At All Times.

If there was a recall or such on the top about the bubbling then it would have to be fixed regardless of it being out of warrenty!! Trust me do some research and try and find if it was a recall and just not a factory defect of which they just warrentied out!!! If it was recalled they have to fix it, and dont let them bs you about it!!!!

i researched tons....its a service buletin, not a "recall". the dealership offered to do the labor, but i would have to pay $450 for the parts. so.....im just gonna find my own damn rook panel and do it myself lol. actually already have one lined up for free...just gotta get around to it.

I'm not talking about the overall weight of the car. You're right there, that won't affect anything much at all. I'm talking about rotating mass. Every way that you can lighten up the drivetrain helps a good bit.

18's are good for looks, but they are heavy! not to mention, not much sidewall on the tires.

There was no recall for this. the problem is the glue used has a chemical reaction with the paint. Majority of cars were camaros starting in 2000(when they started using the glue) but unfortunatly didnt catch the problem til production of fbodies was discontinued. my car has it and unless you get a new one, there is no fix.. so be VERY HAPPY your car doesn't have it... that you noticed anyways

Yeah, i didnt think there was a recall because i probably would have been doing alot of them where a use to work at but i did do alot of the zo6 top panels on the new ones because those things where f-uped from the factory!!! They use industrial strength glue?!?!?!?!?

I UNDERSTAND THAT. BUT IF YOU HOOK WITH THE 18'S AND RUN A CAR AND HOOK WIHT THE 17'S AND RUN THE SAME CAR IT AINT GONNA MAKE NO DIFFERENCE IN THE OUTCOME.

It will make some et difference but it depends on the weight difference. Rotating weight makes bigger et difference than gross weight. I slowed down a little over a tenth when i went to 18's. A little over .25 on the dd.

You Can Make Up A Tenth Just Be Being A Good Driver. Wtf?????? On The Street It Wont Make No Differnce. I Had The Roush Wheels On My Car And Ran A Honda One Time And Beat It By 6 Cars. Put My Wheels On It And Run Him Again And Beat Him By Just About The Same Amount. Everything Dont Refer To The Track.

Well a tenth is nothing on the street. A good driver runs the the time every time at the track.

I Will Agree With You There. As Long As The Car Acts Right Anyone Should Be Able To Run The Same Times All The Time. Street Is Different. Just A Little
MrDavid
01-11-2008, 02:34 PM
true. In a street race it isn't going to make much of a difference at all, but a lighter wheel and tire at the track will make a difference.

I Never Tried To Argue About That. It Wont Make A Tremendous Difference On The Track But I Was Mainly Talking About The Street.

LOL. doesn't matter if you're on the street or track, more rolling weight is more rolling weight. put some 22's on your car and make some runs, then throw on some welds. I guarantee you'll see a difference! even on the magical street! :)

put some 22's on your car and make some runs,
That would defenantly = a broken axle.
