Vice grips, Bench Vise and a long pipe for leverage......then some Bandaids or at least electrical tape and semi clean rags to stop the blood flow from blatant improper tool usage :no teeth:

Beer is a must for sure preferrably Coors Light IMO. The Matco rathets with swivel heads are awesome they cant be beat.

For god sakes get a set of ratchet wrenches! They make all the difference in the world.

THis could be a very helpful thread. If you discover a new tool in search of making your wrenching life easier, post it. If you fabricate a life saving tool, post it as well.

Deep well sockets are a must IMO. Also a good floor jack, jackstands, c-clamps in various sizes, a good light for those dark areas, channel lock pliers in various sizes, WD-40, PB Blaster, a bigass flathead screwdriver that can double as a chisel, and lets not forget those home-made wrenches that're heated and bent or cut and rewelded that replace those "specialty" wrenches.

Don't cheap out when it comes to torque wrenches. Get a good one.

Also aluminum wrenches are handy if you work with lots of aluminum fuel fittings.

How about a toolbox. To store the fools, I mean tools. OOps. I have a collection of tools from snap on and Mac and other assorted companies. Collected as needed over the past 30 years, I paid weekly 75 to 100 dollars for about 17 years to Snap On. And there are still things not on the very accurate long list above that you need, a Certified Straight edge to check head warpage etc, Ring groove cleaners, Jigsaw with metal and wood blades. Holesaws, leak detectors, poprivet set. nutsert assort. I could go all day. It literally could take 100,000 bucks to buy all you need to be a professional mechanic and Restoration Tech.
