OH... I thought you were talking about the vette. The GT500 MSRP is less than 45K actually. Dealer Markup is killing people though. Nearly everywhere in the country is 70K or just under.


The new corvettes are bad ass i love them things. the ford gt is the ugliest car i have ever seen.. the Gt500 is way over rated to. hell and look how heavy they are 39XXlbs thats crazy.

Its a solid platform in which you can run 9's in the 1/4 without ever lifting a valve cover though. Ford at least put a nearly bulletproof powerplant in it. I will give them credit for that. "IF" GM would jump on the "forged internals band wagon" there would certainly be some hell to pay.... but, I don't see it happening without a ridiculous pricetag.

The Gt500 Is Descent Out Of The Showroom. But With Just A Little Money You Can Have A Beast With One Of Those Cars. You Can Up The Boost A Good Bit With The Factory Fuel System. It Is Already Suitable For 850hp. But The Z06 Is A Badass Machine Also.

Chris raced a pullied GT500 at Greer. I don't know if you guys remember. The best he could run out of the GT was 8.0 @ 92. He was consistent on that 92 mph trap speed until one time he happened to go 96mph. I think it could have been a mistake on the lights, because its tough to believe he was trapping 92 for 5 passes in a row, then a 96 pass out of the blue. We overheard him tell someone that it had 545rwhp.
