Why u getting rid of all this stuff
TurboLSX
04-17-2007, 08:15 PM
im going twin turbo or maybe single turbo.
either way, forged motor and low 20 psi of boost shotting for a 1000 hp, keeping the price for everything in the 4 digits hopefully.
hi officer
04-17-2007, 09:52 PM
good choice. boost is addicting. one day when i have the funds i will have a lot better set up. just look on ls1 tech and some of there set ups. freggin nice.

Twin Turbo.
Advantage: Hardly any lag as opposed to a large single.
Disadvantage: Not going to make as much power as a single setup. Twice the problems when something goes wrong. You are gonna pay big $$$.
Single Turbo.
Advantages: Run more boost and make more overall power than a non-sequential twin setup. Only one problem to fix, not two. Less $.
Disadvantage: Lag will be greatly increased at low RPM's unlike the twin.
my .02
Nick recommends the single setup, and he knows turbos like no one else around here.

i vote twins, they will make the same power but with less spool time. twins are just harder to fabricate and maintain

pump and cell are pending sale
fjo/ longtubes also pending.
im thinking twin turbo, something about saying "twin turbo LS1" also they might not make as much peak hp but over time 3-7k the twins make about 30% more over all. more work= more power and speed
on one wants my slicks. 475 is cheap for rims and newer slicks. heck i never burned them out until i met Bj.

dude, the cool factor is gonna be there already because you have a turbo LS1. Who else in anywhere near Upstate SC has one? Or anyone in SC for that matter? No one that we know of. If you have the patience for the TT kit, and the $, then by all means, do it up. I'm just telling you what I think is a little more practical and will be easier to conduct maintence on when something goes wrong. Notice I said "when" something goes wrong.

is this the final plan?
MrDavid
04-24-2007, 10:01 PM
Sounds like a winner to me. You should smoke nearly everything around here with that setup. If you get beat by something, there is always a 50 shot to be put on top of what you already have to make the turbo spool a little faster and put you over the 1000 mark.

That Shit Will Be Mean As Hell. It Will Be Very Seldom If Ever You Will Get Beat On The Street If It Will Hook Up. That Would Be The Most Problem
