Or does GM need to get off their butts and do some serious remodeling for their bastard step-child company Opel. Every year the new Opels get uglier and uglier, and they seem to break down more often as well!

Come on GM! Do something with Opel allready!!

GM is in pretty big financial trouble right now. I don't see them doing a bunch of redesigns or new models. We're hoping over here that they do build the Camaro

Nope, they are GM owned (and ran) German car company. They actually did sell Opels in the US a looooooooong time ago.

You may not recognise the Opel name, but how about that of this company they aquired: Lotus.

Here is a few shots of newer Opels...

Who can forget the Opel GT ?

The GT looked exactly like a Corvette Stingray...well maybe not exactly...maybe not much at all...and of course it had 1/3 the horsepower...

The Opel, the 'Poor Man's Vette' as my dad called them... I actually liked them.

Yup Lee, exactly! But they are some cute lil cars. My brother had one and he painted it like the 1978 Corvette pace car. We used to see how many of us we could cram in that lil thing. Ahhh, those were the days...

My Mom collects and restores cars and she's got a yellow one that's cherry in her lil hoard of cars.

@Crimson-Is that one newer pic of an Opel a 4-door car? If so, what does it have---suicide doors???

No, if you look closely I think it is a flush door handle near the rear 1/4 panel.

**EDIT**

Actually it is a sliding door to the rear! Look.

Interesting...but there looks to be NO front end---not much between the front tires & the front of the car! Pretty unique idea for sure!!!:)

Opel seems like Holden in respect to GM's actual control over it. it seems, at least from this side of the pond, that they don't really "run" the company, as much as own it
