by under drive do you mean pulleys? i don't think that would be needed but you may know otherwise...also why not forged 408? hehe
and one more thing...why don't you wait till i catch up before you go doing that...it'll make me feel better

well a 370 only requires new rods and pistons. 408 needs a crank too. what kind of vibration did you have. mine is just at 1500 rpm to 2500, then if i put it in Neutral and rev it i get a smooth iniform vibration. very slight to where if you never rode in the car you would notice it now. did you have something like that?

if the car does it sitting still then first, (because its easiest) i would make sure you didn't slip the harmonic balancer, then look at the flywheel for anything abnormal such as being bent or missing weight, also the torque converter (not sure if those have weights on our cars.) then if still no problem it may be something such as a stretched rod or broken piston skirt but i doubt that. again those are just guesses, u can rule out everything behind the trans if it does it sitting still.
as for mine it howled during a down shift, also when out of gear above 40mph there was a slight scrubbing noise.
BTW i'm sure you know this but drive/start the car minimally to reduce further damage

shiiiiiiiiit, i got all excited to rip up this motor and the damn balancer bolt was loose and fell out. put it back in and its smooth as silk. anyone have a nitrous noid. im going to add another stage to hopefully blow this thing up.

your on. i bought some good stuff tonight, got a little bored. but i think you will need atleast a 300 shot after they go on.
MrDavid
02-02-2007, 11:24 PM
my prediction - Chris will pull you at least 4 cars at the end of 140mph because you will spin tires all day with that much nitrous.
98chevyman
02-03-2007, 04:45 PM
u can go with a 300 shot but nos dont mean shit without traction ask david
MrDavid
02-03-2007, 05:30 PM
it just means you spin while watching the tail lights of your opponent

^ haha just waht i was thinking. for all of you that were too col to come out tongiht, we had 6 f-bodies terrorizing the westgate ricers/stangs. a pretty clean lil nissan silvia SR20 turbo went down hard tongiht tho, thats just about the only exciting thing that went on.
MrDavid
02-03-2007, 11:36 PM
actually, it was a 240. I doubt you will see a sylvia in the burg. Yea, he bit the dust pretty quick. I am thinking after tonight that I would like to put the slicks on and race chris while we are both spraying. It might be a little more interesting than I had previously thought. :), but then again, it might not.
The EnforceR
02-04-2007, 12:17 AM
you gotta let chris put on his e.t skreets too bc he was a little squirly too
01BlackBird
02-04-2007, 02:13 AM
there are a few actual silvias in the spartanburg area I am real close friends with some guys that have a shop NSPerformance (hence the sticker on my truck) they specialize in sr20 swaps, skylines, silvias, 180s, and 240s, any of the turbo ones you see around they most likely did the swap or had a part in it but they also import cars from japan and put them back together thats why you see a few skylines around our area now
MrDavid
02-04-2007, 02:26 PM
I've only seen one skyline around the area and we all know it is nowhere near fast. But I have never seen any of these sylvias around here. If you're close friends with some of them, then get one of them to come out and meet up with us next time. I wanna see one.

which resultin in tire haze, literally.
MrDavid

I don't do 75 rolls, that is for ricers with big turbos! We are putting slicks on and going from a 35 roll. And you aren't gonna up the shot on me either! You are already on a bigger shot than me anyway so I'll need all the help I can get. If you spin you are gonna have to play catchup!
hi officer
02-04-2007, 11:33 PM
165 roll for me, i have a bad traction problem

dave the slower the speed the better. my car is setup for the track. 70 roll would help you. as for traction, et stick are here to bolt on where ever. i think im going to try some 315 nittos for fun, if those suck than maybe some bf goodrich drag radials. i just got some rear end parts for the 10 bolt. if it break then ill just get a 12 or 9 inch, no biggie.
but one word for you traction haters out there "progressive" and im not talking soup either
01BlackBird
02-05-2007, 05:22 PM
good luck with those rear end parts I had the same parts on mine that you bought and I broke mine but you do have an auto so maybe it will hold and the BFG drag radials suck so I wouldnt waist my money on those it doesnt get any better than mockey thompson

and MT's are what i'll be rollin on. I don't want to go from a high roll, I don't car if it will help me or not. I don't want to win a race like that. I say we run 35-140 and if you are way ahead when I get to 110 and it doesn't look like i'm gonna catch up then i'll just throw in the towel then. I've been beaten before, so it won't be the first time, and i'm sure it won't be the last.
