nice nice. im changin my plugs tongiht and hopefully il be able to make it tomrrow after practice. were things goin slow or were they gettin cars on and off pretty quickly?

low octane eguals low numbers mine went 372 thats bull shit mine dynoed alot more than that at hawks but it may not have been my day

I figured the better temps and low humidity would have sorta compensated for the lower octane gas. guess not. I'll just tell you in advance kyle, you should expect to see no higher than 325. Thats if things go well. I was looking at my print out and was suprised to see that my car was still making power when I cut back on the throttle at 6K. I should have taken it to about 6500 I guess. I never had a drop in horsepower till I let off the gas.

hey dave i think they had the correction on the dyno messed up. i just went over my graphs and they are all corrected. i think thats why some people where pulling 10 hp or more lower than normal. i just looked at mine uncorrected and it showed 556 whp, which means it is what the car put down not taking in to factor, humidity and air temp. look at yours that way. its now much more power but i think thats what everyone was missing, including myself

heck if you mess with the corrections i made from 548-562 whp and 588-606 wtorque, depending on the correction

uncorrected with no smoothing mine was 380hp 370 torque but with 5 % smoothing it was 372hp 363tq that shits all german to me all i know is that i heard 372 which is gota be bull cause it was tuned by hawks on a dynojet and was ay over that

hawks might have had his correction factor upped to show more power. you can fudge the numbers if you want on a dyno. a correction factor of 1.10 will give you 10% higher numbers. 0.90 will give you 10% less. uncorrected is 1.00 exactly what the car made.

eh who cares about the #s we know yalls cars are fast, the only #s that matter are track times and how many car/bus lengths you put on mustangs.

sounds like everyone had a good time wish I couldve went but the good news is my car is back from the dead with new plugs, clutch, lontubes, and I rerouted my duals to get a little more flow and oh yea david it still has the same sound as before its just a little deeper on low rpms

so would my car be 382 or 372 ? with my size cam it should be not that low at 372 unless its a shitty tune right?

well take this for what it's worth. with my mods i only dyno'd 313 hp/312 tq so idk if its my car that sucks or the dyno's off but i was dissappointed to say the least.

theres no way a LT, full exhaust, intake, p&p tb, tuned car should make 313 hp i gotta figure out whats wrong with this piece.

dont feel bad kyle, i did 311hp/322tq and i cant figure out how to put videos on here so if anyone wants to give it a try, i have all of them on a cd

i know but i should have about 20-25 on top of that with LTs and a tune i would think. these numbers are what we should be puttin down bone ass stock lol. idk i guess hp #s dont really matter anyway its how it does on the street and track that counts.

John: You can upload the videos using photobucket.com. Just make an account and find the video on your hard drive and click upload. its easy.

Kent: I am willing to bet that Hawks has his dyno set at a higher correction factor to make people more pleased with his performance tunes. I don't think travis' car actually made 475. It sure didn't look like it that night and it shouldn't have been that much slower running in open loop as opposed to running in closed loop.


Kyle: You have to take into account that you do not have a cam or heads on your car which will not let you benefit from the headers and dump nearly as much as a car with upgraded internals + you are minus the LS6 intake, and you might be losing power from the old plugs that you are still running.

Jay: When are you gonna have 500 miles on that mug? Cause you and John need to run 'em again now to see who is top dog on motor with stock internals.

still tho, if you look at other peoples dyno #s on tech, bolt on car with similar mods are makin 335-345 usually.

i guess know body really made what makes them exactly happy i know with what i got done and the money and crap i got on it i firmly believe i ve got more than 370 i dont care what these numbers say i know its better than that but u can bet hawks is gettn an email and a call tommorow an we gona talk about whats up i ran 87 octane in the car on the dyno but that still doesnt make that much of a lag of hp:taunt:

Kent, was your car tuned with HP tuners or LS1edit? If its HP then you should get your credits from Bruce and see if Chris can play around with your numbers. I believe that you have more than 370 also, from what I have seen anyway.

i believe it was hp tuners evertime i go up there they always mess with the tune so theres no telling what they do to it they may not even know

yea kyle I did change the plugs in my car when we went to shadyside but I put the cheap ngk v power plugs in it so while I had them out I put a little hotter iridium plug in it. I got 200 miles on it yesterday 300 to go and then we can see if the longtubes and exhaust made a difference

I think your car needs a little more backpressure than what you have now with the new exhaust.

idk i was readin up on it a while back and its a big debate on whether or not backpresure is myth or fact on LS1s. you think itd be worth it switching to 3 inch? i just love how deep it sounds right now and dont wanna lose the sound.

then put a cam in it. Then your car will need that exhaust system. Right now it just seems like your exhaust flows a little too much for the power you are making up top. I'm not sure thou...???

I feel as me and u dave should have over 400hp u got an ls6 intake right? I know the numbers dont mean jack but thats what everbody gets compared to because nowbody has good runs because of traction at he strip so dyno is really all we got right now

you guys need to take in acount that a cam does not add huge hp unless it is paired with some heads. and huge heads with a huge cam doesnt make huge power. everything has to work together. kyle ive talk to some friends and that 4 inch dump is killing you. sorry to say. i know it sounds sweet and for as much racing as we do id say keep the sound. yes your car may be faster on the street but you need to remember two things:

1. dynos use torque to calcuate horsepower
2. 4 inch exhaust on a car that needs smaller kills torque- gving lower hp #s

yes you made less than will,but i bet you walk him in a race.
